This is the best hotel room I have had in London and I have stayed places a lot more expensive. The room was large, very modern, very comfortable. Huge four poster bed, nice linens, very posh modern bathroom. Espresso maker, stocked fridge, Aveda toiletries. The hotel does not have a large lobby or fancy restaurant, but who cares, the room is AWESOME.

I stayed for business as it is a quick walk to most offices in the City. It is close to two tube stops serviced by District and Circle lines.

This is a good location for a business traveler. If you are visiting London for holiday, though, be aware that since this is located in the City, it is somewhat deserted area at the weekends so the near by restaurant options are often closed at the weekend. That's no big deal if you know London and can get around yourself. But if you were to come for Holiday, it might feel weird to be situated here on the weekend. During the week though plenty of restaurants and shops open.

Dear Guest,

After doing business rounds the whole day, where else can we relax if not in an "awesome" room as you described. And where else can you find such a room if not at Hotel Indigo! Thanks for patronizing us.

The hotel is a bit small and without any facilities. Our first offered room has small bed and non-functioning aircondition even thought I am a member of the IHG group.

Finally, I have got free upgrade and the room is more reasonable in space. The manager has offered 3 days free breakfast too. It is good and thankjs!

However, I think one day trying the breakfast is good enough. The speed of food offering is slow that we need to spend at least 1 to 1.5 hour for breakfast. However, I have no choice because all the shops and restaurants are closed during weekend holiday. It is a commercial area in fact. No recommend for vacation especially with kid.

Room Tip: Executive King Room is fine. I stayed at 406 finally. Thanks to the manager.

We stayed here from Sept. 24 - 29, 2013 in room 504 which is an executive room. I selected the hotel based on price and past experience with Hotel Indigo in the USA and it's unique boutique style along with the seemingly reasonable access to everything a tourist would want to do. Having never been in London it's hard to decide but we do tend to want to be away from a city center and the major tourist areas. This location couldn't have been better. It is a business area and doesn't have the old historic feel of some areas or the street plantings but we weren't planning on being here most of the day.

As everyone says, easy access to the underground and ease of use was great. Anywhere you stay you will need to use transportation to get around since the places you want to go, if you are there more than a night, will be scattered around the city. In fact the hop on, hop off boat stop is an easy walk to the river.

I loved Starbucks being just 2 short blocks up the street. With dollars loaded on my phone app I could buy quick oatmeal (porridge) and coffee letting them convert to pounds at the current rate with no fees. Wow! That's just a side note in case you have a pre-loaded card. It works here.

Of course the free minibar in our room was fabulous. You never have to worry about being hungry or thirsty in your room and having to run out to buy something. No alcohol of course but there is enough room in the fridge for some of your own stuff, too. Nespresso - just like at home. Ask for an extra caffeinated pod if you need it as just one of each is supplied. Minibar is replenished during housekeeping service. We had nightly turn down service, too.

Our executive room was a nice size with 2 sinks in the bathroom. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the bathroom but you can glimpse one sink in one of my room photos. No, there is no counter around the sinks but there is a floor to ceiling bank of shelving between the sinks that holds everything from the towels to all of our stuff with room to spare. The open shower was a nice feature for me. The shower stays cleaner, dry and fresh when not in use. Throwing the towels on the floor around the shower when finished sops up any overspray. The only improvement needed in the entire hotel would be the bathroom lighting directly beside the mirror. There is none which makes it hard for women to do makeup. My husband didn't notice. :) Otherwise the lighting in the entire room was nice and plentiful. There were plenty of outlets for charging devices.

And YES, the free wifi worked great. You will need your 6 digit user name and password given to you on a card. Although there is a save log in information button at log in, when you leave the hotel it will still require you to log in again the next to you return. You need a different number for each device. We needed 4 numbers - 2 devices each. We never had slow or unavailable service. Pictures were email - whoosh - just like that. This is a huge bonus for our of country travelers with locked phones and no international plan or local sim card.

The king size bed was very comfortable although the pillows were a bit flattish. We got an extra pillow each to fix that. The closet is spacious. There are drawers for clothes. Two bathrobes and slippers are suppled. Air conditioner worked perfectly and I like to make it cold. Modern, immaculately clean and perfectly maintained property.

A huge bonus for us was the free LA Fitness access. This is WAY superior to any hotel fitness center/gym. This is full access and it's just a short walk away. The gym staff were very welcoming and supply you with a lock for the lockers and a towel for your sweat. All the machines are in excellent condition. TVs are closed caption with no headphone capability. Any cardio equipment you need is available including ergometers. Hotel Indigo will give you sufficient passes for each visit you make to the gym. There just isn't any place to jog safely in the city so this was so great.

There are launderettes close by - 20 minutes walk or so. Go to the one over the bridge - a bit farther away - but much more comfortable location. We went to the one on our side of the bridge in an unfamiliar location and didn't feel comfortable waiting around for it to open.

I saved the best for last. The hotel staff is incredible. Human Resources is to be commended for their excellent hiring practices. Every single person at reception is especially hospitable and well suited for their jobs. Cheerful, friendly, professional, helpful, I can't say enough. Special recognition goes to Giusi (pronounced pretty much like juicy in English) from Italy who checked us in and was so very helpful in orienting us to all the hotel offered. We actually felt bad to have to say goodbye to her. We enjoyed seeing her each day.

If we ever go back to London, this is definitely where we will be staying, unless of course there is no availability now that the secret is out. Did I say I love this hotel?

Room Tip: Your IHG brand loyalty status is automatically applied here. No asking required.

We have just spent three nights at the Hotel Indigo and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We were in room 603 and it is a large room, four poster bed, fridge, great bathroom and a complimentary mini bar in the room filled with chocolates, sodas, juices, and water. There were some snacks as well. There was even an Nespresso machine and teapot that were put to good use! The hotel is near two underground stations, Aldgate and Tower Hill, Aldgate being a 2 minute walk! There are good dining optiosn nearby and of cousre using the tube makes it easy to get anywhere in London or the Bus 15 was an excellent orientation trip - don't need the tourist bus! The hotel is in a quiet area and we would highly recommend this hotel for those traveling through the city.

Room Tip: suggest upper level - like our room 603

I came back to stay at the Indigo this year, this time with my wife and two children.

In a busy city, the hotel feels like a small oasis, it felt like home, my wife the two children all said that.

The service was great, from check in through to checkout.

The hotel has all the items we needed, from good air conditioning to internet for kids, a nespresso and hairdryer for my wife to an iron for me.

I would recommend to families or business travelers.

There was a sign posted saying the hotel is looking into permits to add some more levels so you might inquire about this in case it impacts availabilty of the hotel rooms should construction take place.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, I have stayed in the back but this is not a very busy street so any rooms wo...

After deciding on London as our next big trip, we were looking at what it seemed every hotel in the city. We stumbled upon Hotel Indigo Tower Hill and decided that the fact they offered free WiFi was enough to sell us on staying here.

We arrived at the hotel at around 10 am after an overnight flight and they let us know that our room would not be available for another hour. They took our luggage and apologized that the room wasn't ready. We said it was fine and decided to explore around our hotel while we still had energy left over from our flight. We came back a few hours later, room was ready and bags already upstairs.

The room itself was the perfect size for the both of us, just enough room for us to move around comfortably. The bed was large and very comfortable. They had a complimentary mini bar in the room filled with chocolates, sodas, juices, and water. There were some snacks as well. The Nespresso machine and teapot were put to good use!

The hotel was nothing but accommodating to us. Whenever we had to make a phone call to confirm a tour or call for a taxi, the concierge were more than happy to do it. It is near two underground stations, Aldgate and Tower Hill, Aldgate being a 2 minute walk! As for sites, you do have to use the tube to get to central London but the Tower of London and Tower Bridge are a 5 minute walk away. I loved that it was close enough to get to sites but far enough that it was quiet when it was time to sleep. I would truly recommend this hotel in a heartbeat for those traveling through the city.

Dear Guest,

Thanks for pointing out that Indigo more than makes up for the few inconvenience experienced at the start like as you mentioned, " the rooms not being available for another hour". Everything else after that is what we would say "at your beck and call". Indigo spells excellent service!

We stayed here for 4 nights in July. This was a great hotel. Clean, nicely decorated, convenient location, and friendly staff. The room was fairly small, but that seems to be normal in Europe. It was laid out in a user friendly manor. I do remember one thing that I would change and that was the shower. The glassed wall was only half way enclosed and water got all over the floor.

It is within walking distance to Tower of London and the Tower tube station. We felt safe in the neighborhood as well. We did get back to the hotel usually until 11:00 - 1:00 a.m. and never had an issue walking the streets. It was quiet on the weekend as it appeared to be in a business district.

There is a convenient store next door that we grabbed a quick bite for breakfast that was very reasonably priced and the food was not bad.

I would recommend this hotel.
