The hotel is an easy walk from either Liverpool Street or Aldgate and well located for transport links to all the London attractions. The reception is welcoming and the front desk staff were wonderful and helpful throughout our stay. Our room on the sixth floor was quiet and clean. Every little detail had been thought about - dressing gowns, slippers, Nespresso machine, complimentary water/soft drinks/snacks in the mini bar, lovely toiletries and free wi-fi. On check-in you receive a wi-fi pass and it was quick and worked every time we used it .
The restaurant and bar staff were as lovely as their front desk counterparts and the food was superb. I believe previously the menu was based around a pizza oven but thats all gone now. The chef is a talented fellow and the evening meal we had was not just chucked together or typical hotel grub, real thought had gone into the presentation and flavours.
Breakfast was similarly a good experience with the choice of continental or cooked and a broad spread on each. We had breakfast included in our room rate but if I had one criticism it would be that if you did not have it included then the prices seemed quite expensive.

We arrived a little jaded at about 9pm to be greeted by "beaming" smiles from the duty manager and reception staff - how uplifting and unusual in this day and age :) We had booked a superior room and, when the hotel realised we were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary, were upgraded to a suite! What can I say! The funky red spangly floor lift takes you up to your floor and your little piece of nirvana - in our case not so little! With two plasma TV's, your own sitting room, great bathroom and 4 poster bedroom and free complimentaries what more can you ask for? This hotel is very accessible fro Aldgate Station and is a "must stay" destination for those of us who want to experience something a little more chic. A BIG thankyou to all and we WILL be back!!

Stepping out of "Aldgate" station, map in hand, venturing down "Minories street", one does not feel very inspired at first. However once entering the luminous reception, one can only feel at ease. Welcomed by lovely, smiling staff and rapidly checked in. Arrived too early? Not to worry, the staff will keep your luggage and give you all the nescessary information you need to have a fantastic day in London, during which they will inform you that your room is ready and your luggage has been brought up. Your room is no less than a little heaven for you to enjoy. Fresh, Zen/modern design, I-pod deck, TV, Ironing board, iron, fridge, safe, toileteries, tea, Nespresso machine...basically everything and more that one needs to feel nested.
My favourite aspect: The impecable state and comfort of the bed and linen.
My only critisism: A little noise the fridge made.

The hotel is less than 5 minutes from Aldgate tube station and about 15 min walk from Liverpool Street Station. The hotel's exterior is unprepossessing but the accommodation was superb. I had a first floor room and although facing on to Minories my sleep was undisturbed. The decor is quirky, the rooms are large and comfortable and furnished to a good standard. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Staff were professional, competent and seemed to anticipate every need. This hotel was a real find. I spend a lot of the year in hotels on business and this is the first time in a very long time I felt so positive about a hotel I wanted to tell other people about it.

I booked the Hotel Indigo for a weekend break for 2 nights. I found myself upgraded to an executive room and I must say its probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The reception area / lobby is really small.

The room was spacious, a brick wall, very contemporary but elegant - a four poster bed... A nespresso machine (although they only give you two coffee pods) a free minibar, free wifi, a very large and spacious bathroom, bathrobes, plenty of towels, a flat screen tv and most importantly an ipod dock ;-) - oops I forgot a free newspaper of your choice..

This hotel was great, didn't use the restaurant or room service, but staff were friendly - its a few minutes from Aldgate tube station - although sadly the circle line was not working the weekend I stayed there... I'll be back to this hotel, its really a hidden gem!

Just back from a 2 night stay at Hotel Indigo, got upgraded to an executive room and it was stunning, room & bathroom beautiful, so much space for a London hotel where space is at a premium!! Aveda beauty products, bathrobe, slippers and free minibar just topped things off. Very conveniently located to Aldgate tube station and a close walk to Liverpool Street Station. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to people, there is a bit of noise in the evening, especially with transport but thats not the hotels fault, you have to expect a certain amount of noise being in a busy London area, its a city not a rural retreat. Top notch, would go back today!!!

Great feedback and many thanks you for your supportive comments.
Truth to be known, recent road works at the top of Minories, had forced buses to be re-routed through the otherwise quiet back streets around the hotel. As we cannot control these external noise emissions, we have decided to commission the installation of high quality secondary glazing over the next couple of months, to ensure our guests enjoy a tranquil stay with us irrespective of the external activities.
We are looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

we love the holiday inn chain and stay often with you guys but normally with kids so it was a rare treat to stay in a nearly boutique hotel with a lovely room which had fabulous attention to both style and detail.
sadly i was disappointed at check in when the receptionist nearly barked at myself and the couple ahead of me. she informed us generally that there were no rooms as they had been busy last night so we should leave luggage and come back later. this is of course fine except for the manner in which it was delivered. i was waiting to meet my husband and other people may be new to london and just want to relax and have a coffee. unfortunately the bar is next door so feels a little uncomfortable. i asked to use the bathroom but was told to go outside and to next door and go downstairts. i did not feel comfortable with this so went elsewhere. if there had been a nice hotel bar i would have stayed and spent money.

after our meal out the same was true. we returned to the hotel for a drink and found we had to sit in an empty sort of half breakfast room, and half cafe. many people from outside london would surely like a nice relaxing atmospheric bar within their hotel especially if they do not know the local area.

we had a great time but it is a shame about the layout and the welcome is embarrassing as i do not want london to be represented in this way. the design of the rooms is lovely but please please get some double glazing! we stayed in a hotel overlooking big ben recently. they were a period building but had managed to block out any sounds. we were awake most of the night with the noise of the street. a great shame for a beautifully designed hotel.

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept my apologies for the over exuberant manner with which our front desk welcomed you and for the inappropriate directions given to you regarding the easiest passage to the rest rooms. I can assure you there is a direct connection from our reception to the lower ground floor where these are located without the need to go out of the building and re-enter through the restaurant. Our Square Mile restaurant has two bars, one on the ground floor with a transient, lively atmosphere and another in the lower ground floor with a more relaxed approach, both of which are accessible from within the Hotel and directly from street level.
Although the hotel is fully double glazed, we have been experiencing noise issues emanating from outside, most recently bus routes changed due to road works forcing buses to detour on otherwise quiet back streets around the hotel. In our continuing endeavours to provide our guests with tranquillity during their stay, we have scheduled the fitting of high quality secondary glazing to all our windows over the next couple of months.
I am glad you enjoyed the unique design and several other aspects of our concept and I hope your unfortunate experience does not mar your faith in us.
We look forward to welcoming you back at the hotel in the near future when I am certain you will enjoy our hospitality
