This is a conveniant hotel for central London. Within easy walking distance from Waterloo underground and handy for Waterloo bridge leading to Theatreland and Covent Garden. The eye and aquarium are both a short walk from the hotel. The walk along the South Bank towards Tower Bridge is lovely at night with plenty of bars and restaurants along the way. In all this is an ideal base wherever you want to be in London. The hotel and its rooms are spotless and the staff are friendly and ready to help. You will struggle to find a better positioned hotel at this price.

Stayed in Travelodge Waterloo for one week in April and loved the hotel. Excellent location, within walking distance to Waterloo station, and with some eateries surrounding that area including Sainburys. The rooms and bathroom were great, very clean and very simple. The staff there were very warm and homely towards us, and it was further shown to me when I fell sick during the stay that they allowed food and juices to be brought up when I could not go down for breakfast.

As weather in London was cold, the absence of an air-conditioner did not bother us at all.
It was a pleasant stay with no mishaps/miscommunications. Everything was clear-cut, what you see is what you get and there is no "hidden" charges.
This is a definite recommendation if you want something simple and value-for-money. Will return to Travelodge Waterloo on my next trip to London.

Booked in to the Waterloo Travelodge as my preferred choice in Covent Garden was full.

As with all the Travelodges I've stayed in this is a basic 'get a comfy nights sleep' type of affair. The room is a standard clean ensuite with a decent shower, tea and coffee making gear, comfy and clean bedding. Sort of 'open cupboard shelf' for hanging clothing, looks odd, but cheaper than a full blown cupboard eh :) Small chair and table if you need it. Didn't use the Café or Bar this time around so can't comment on the service, but the Bar area was clean and tidy at the times I wandered through to get the lift.

Critical bits: Small TV - but lets face it, I don't come to London to watch TV, there's far better things to be doing and seeing! It was a bad picture however, so would be disappointing to other customers. I booked in using the kiosks this time. Yeah, happy with the system, it serves it's purpose, but just missing that personal touch and makes you detached from the staff. No sort of welcome or acknowledgement, which other establishments would offer. Just a 'Hi Welcome, come see us if you have any questions' would be enough :)

In summary, I would be very happy to use Waterloo again if the need arose and would recommend it for short stays/weekends :)

Usually stay at Southwark Travelodge but we were offered a good price for Waterloo, so decided to try it. Location is great, there's a couple of eating places just outside and a great pub " The Stage Door" just around the corner. 188 bus to Greenwich stops 50m away. The Cut is just a 5 min walk, as is Waterloo Station. Suprisingly quiet at night as well.
