Good location, less than 5 minutes from Waterloo Station,2 rooms 4 nights £440,bed and shower in room virtually nothing else, comfortable and clean bed and good clean shower, surprisingly quiet area and hotel. All in all good value for family break, friendly staff who try to help but are restricted by poor training. This was my first time staying at a Travelodge and I must say I was pleasantly surprised.

It's clean but that's about all I cane say about this hotel. Rooms are very hot and mine looked out on to a tower block covered in scaffolding although to be fair the window was so small you couldn't really see out of it anyway. No iron, no ironing board, no hair dryer so when planning on going for breakfast at 7 for a 7.30 start you had to go and ask for an ironing board and iron to do your suit for the day, and I had to get it to the 7th floor. Room was very hot ....to be fair there was a fan.... It just wouldn't stand up.......which I discovered at 2.30 in the morning when I awoke absolutely sweltering and decided to haul it out of the corner to plug into the one PowerPoint the lead would reach in front of the bathroom door. No bath in my room and the shower hit the wall about a foot above my head unless I turned it down at which point it went cold.
Staff at breakfast were pleasant though.

Room Tip: The higher you are the hotter it gets...... Ask for a ground floor Take a hair dryer girls.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Its in waterloo so not central London but within 5 mins of the tube. My only complaint was the heat, it wasn't even warm outside but the room was as there is no air con and the window only opens an inch. If you need fresh air don't book this hotel! I cant fault the staff they were exceptional at both check in and breakfast. If you like warmth this hotels for you!

This was not the first time I have stayed at the Travelodge Central Waterloo, but since my last stay, the rooms have benefitted from the new Travelodge room makeover which includes the new kingsize beds, new pillows & duvet. These changes certainly make for a greatly improved nights sleep and a more pleasant stay. The nature of my stay when at this Travelodge is often business and it's location is very convenient for London Waterloo Station (5 minutes walk). This makes destinations both north & south of the Thames easily accessible. As I quite often attend industry dinners & functions that are held at some of Londons top southbank hotels this makes a great base at a very competitive price (compared to most hotels) in London these days. Would highly recommend this hotel to both business & leisure travellers alike.

All good. Have stayed here various times before. Arrived and paid for early checkin. Checkin was slow as appeared to be two trainees and one managers and so took about 10 mins to check in which was disappointing. There are apparently only about 6 twin rooms at the hotel so if you need one then book early.

Received a call from the hotel when getting home saying that we had left an iPhone charger in the room and could we call them and they would post back to us - good customer service and appreciated this

This Travelodge is just around the corner from the grim Travelodge at Southwark, and is in a completely different league.

It is cheaper (30 to £50 less), equally convenient for the underground (Waterloo or Southwark), quieter (no train lines outside), more congenial and safer feeling surroundings, significantly better room with a thicker matress, better bigger and pleasant cafe/restaurant, and a comfortable lounge area. Why stay at the Southwark Travelodge when this better Travelodge is virtually next door for less money.

The Hotel is a short walk from Southwark or Waterloo undergrounds. Various restaurants and pubs are nearby on The Cut. Two curry houses are on the cut, and the Southbank Tandoori was excellent.

Liquid soap and shampoo were provided (maybe there is a recent change in Travelodge policy as only small bars were provided at Southwark)

There is a gymngroup next door, but you have to be a member

Good
hotel and rooms are clean
good price for london

Bad
The rooms are unbearably hot. A fan is provided but with no plug sockets near the bed its not much use.
The rooms are barren and soulless but fine if you do not need to spend any time in them
The worst thing for me was that there are no irons provided in the room. You must ask at reception . Needing to iron my clothes for work the next day I asked in the evening only to be told that all the irons were in use but my name was put on a waiting list! Nothing arrived and the next morning still nothing. Eventually with much complaining I managed to get an iron but no board…it was a very stressful and surely unecessary experience.
