I came here for afternoon tea with a friend around Christmas time. The hotel itself is stunning and the restaurant where the tea was served was beautifully decorated. The tea itself was good but I've tasted better. The finger sandwiches were fairly standard and quite pleasant to eat. The cakes had clearly been made with a lot of attention to detail but this did not always translate into the taste. Unfortunately, as vegetarians, we could not sample some of the cakes because they contained gelatine and this limited our choice. If you do not have specific dietary preferences, I would suggest you try this for a special occasion, however I do not think I would visit again.
