“Breathtaking!”
Reviewed 11 December 2012

What a magnificent hotel... the structure of the old rail station is so well preserved and carried out as a theme of the hotel. It was such a treat to stay here. Excellent service, chatty staff, great drinks/nibbles in the chamber room. Wonderfully decorated for the holidays. I wish I could think of something more constructive to say, but I think I am still a bit speechless at the whole experience.

The staff, service, food and room were all 6 star!
It also had the bonus of making all our travels around so easy due to its close location to the Tube.
The decor inside is like no other hotel I have ever been in!
Corridors are wide and high and they have done a wonderful job in keeping original features, eg old steam radiators, wherever possible.
Would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Club rooms are great.

We were looking forward to staying at this 'luxury' hotel and were impressed by the photographs shown on the website. However, the overall experience made us feel it was money wasted really.

The exterior and also the interior of the lobby is impressive - beautifully decorated with magnificent architecture. This is where the luxury ends! Our room was no different to a regular budget chain hotel room. The only difference was the quality of the complimentary toiletries and the pointless 'turn-down' service offered on the evenings.

The location is excellent, can't be beaten. It is right next door to King's Cross Station so everything you need is nearby and it's difficult to get lost!

Next time I would walk an extra 10 minutes and go to one of the budget chain hotels instead. DEFINITELY not worth £233+, unless you're a businessman and aren't paying for it out of your own pocket!

ps We were asked to provide a £100 deposit by reception "in case" we decided to order room service or use the internet.. This wasn't explained prior to arrival and was most inconvenient.

Attended a Christmas Lunch in the magnificent Hanson Hall. It is a splendid place to hold a special event as the building is spectacular. It is beautifully furnished and has a magical atmosphere and looked even more stunning with Christmas decorations. The starter was delicious - smooth chicken liver parfait with onion and golden raisin compote. Main course - roast capon with chestnut stuffing and lovely vegetables followed by Christmas Pudding with cranberry compote and brandy butter. The coffee and petit fours were wonderful. We were greeted with a glass of champagne by friendly waiters and when we sat down the staff made sure our wine and water glasses were never empty. The service was excellent and the whole experience delightful. A visit to the amazing St Pancras Station adjoining the Hotel after the lunch was an added bonus.

Stayed there for 4 nights on business. The location and the building are historical and magnificent but once you get throught the lobby it´s like any other hotel. The room I got was rather small and if I had been paying full price I would have complained - but it was clean and the beds were great. Booked the hotel through Jetsetter for a great rate. Had lunch in the restaurant and breakfast and both were fine but expensive. The service of staff was fine except for the concierge at the time who was a stuck up guy more interested in his clothes than helping me. Would I stay there again or recommend it: not for a full rate in which case you can get a much better 5 star hotel in London - for a discounted rate of about $200 a night it´s however a great deal.

We booked for afternoon tea at the St Pancras Renaissance hotel. Table was reserved & service was excellent. We went for the champagne option, £45. There was plenty of food, sandwiches, scones, cakes, & endless tea refills. I would say it was a little pricey, but we knew that when we booked. The Hansom lounge is not integral to the hotel, which is a shame as we'd have liked to have seen inside, but it was a great experience overall, we weren't hurried, and as it was just into December - was nicely festive.
