Having attended a function there, I was very disappointed by the service received. If you are going to charge £10 per shot for Vodka and £6.50 for a bottle of beer, then please at least have staff trained on how to serve it and how to use the Micros! It took 8 minutes to get two drinks at the bar, limes and lemon for Vodka looked 3 days old and were all dried out! Why not sell your Champagne and Wine by the glass? At your margins you can afford a bit of wastage. In fact you lost a lot of revenue by not selling by the glass. Not everyone wants a whole bottle at a time. To add insult to injury you add a 12.5% service charge that was mandatory and yet the agency barman working didn't know how to make a drink or use the till? Can't see the service in that. Not what I was expecting from a Hotel such as this.

Dear Aussiemark73,

As the manager of the Event Operations Department, I would like to sincerely apologize for the fact that you feel that the service levels you received during the event fell below our usual high standards.

We do also greatly appreciate your feedback on the pricing of our beverages, while I do understand your concerns of value from what you had our pricing is regularly bench-marked with similar establishments in comparable hotels. Furthermore, in relation with the service charge this is discretionary and can be removed on request.

I would like to assure you that your comments will be reviewed with the conference and events team to avoid any similar occurrences in the future and improve our guest experience.

We hope to get the opportunity to welcome you back so we can restore your faith in our hotel.

Your Sincerely,

Razvan Patache
Events Operations Manager

From the second the taxi pulled up outside the hotel we were extremely well looked after - very pleasant friendly staff always anticipating our needs; great rooms, great Club lounge, food and drink - even better was the concierge taking us to the Eurostar Business Lounge the following morning. We'll be back.....

Located at the international pancras train station and tight next door to the British museum. You can travel anywhere from this hotel to see the local sites. The service was exceptional and we even took a luxury car as we departed to the airport. I loved this hotel and look forward to my next trip to London

This was my second stay at this property. The hotel has managed to keep up its high standard. I was surprised that they still had my information in their system from 3 years ago, I didn’t even need to show them my passport.

Check in: extremely friendly. My platinum status with Marriott was recognized. I was offered a room upgrade, early check in and late check out. I also had access to the chambers club and free breakfast. Very decent breakfast with hot and cold options.

Room: clean and well maintained. Very standard amenities for 5 star hotel.

Location: great location if you are catching a train from St. Pancras or Kings Cross. The hotel is actually part of the station. You can easily get to anywhere in London using the underground. It is great for people staying for business. It is next to a busy station and not necessarily a touristy area.

Staff: friendly and efficient.

Building: it has a lot of character and charm. We enjoyed walking around this property.

Best for: definitely for people departing or arriving for St Pancras station by train. Frequent visitors of London and ppl on business. May not be a best choice for first timers in London.

This hotel is a living monument to Victorian Train Cathedrals and the stations of long ago. Repose in the rooms or public spaces of this amazing hotel and feel a little bit like you are at Hogwarts. The gothic/Romanesque revival architecture is a treat and you can’t get lost staring at the tracery of the grand windows. Room was exceptional and made for easy work hookups to keep in touch with the office.
