This neighborhood comes alive on weekends and on weekdays at night. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and people passing by. I enjoy walking along Portobello road and checking out the stores. If the weather is nice this makes for an excellent afternoon.

Also came across Portobello Market Wow, being wanted to go for a very long time and came across this also a wonderful day spent in London.

Nice place to live. Beautiful houses. Portobello road was a bit to busy. Probably due to the Saturday. Nice shops.

I was completely captivated when visiting Notting Hill......which is now one of my most desirable areas in London. Both charming and cosmopolitan... and you can find absolutely everything from world-famous events and eateries to cutting-edge galleries and theatres.
We did spend our Saturday morning browsing the extensive Portobello Market, the antique stalls were nearly a kilometre long and the market was bustling with people. The market offers an endless variety of merchandise and it was hard not to indulge ourselves into shopping vintage, leather, unique souvenirs and antiques.....
Notting Hill is also a fantastic place to find small, independent art galleries and some lovely home design shops.....
Highly recommended to visit and use as your base when visiting London.

My primary reason for visiting Notting Hill was because I am a huge fan of the movie Notting Hill with Hugh Grant. However, Notting Hill is more than just the famous movie title. It's a charming place that is well worth the visit. I recommend a long walk in Notting Hill just to absorb the atmosphere, some tea at one of the adorable cafes, and a visit to the Portobello road market.
