Go see before its turned into a steel monster with the modern creeping in. If you look for organic fabrics it's a must

At the weekend, especially on Sunday, there is a street market all round Brick Lane, flowing into the old Trumans Brewery area. There is cheap fruit, junk and retro stuff... be ready to haggle!
In Brick Lane itself, try a bagel filled with hot salt beef! Wonderful, and very filling. £3.70... Also chopped herring bagels (about £2.10 I think).
Walk up to Columbia Road to see the flower market (go early if you want to buy - about 7.00 a.m. - park at Bethnal Green Technical College) There's a nice pub in Columbia Road ... (and cafes and cute shabby-chic shops all round)

Even though the Liverpool Underground Station is very crowded and the surrounding intersection, we were able to make our way to Brick Lane. Loved all the vintage clothing stores and little cafes. It was one of the places in London that we didn't feel overwhelmed with people and hustle and bustle.

Great fun on a Sunday! A mix of everything and good food to buy. Like every market some things are good and some things aren't so good. I like the variety!
It is close to Old Spitalfield Market which also can be recommended!
