A nice walk with the Yeoman of the Guard..don't tip them because they hold out their hands at the end of the tour. They get paid enough and live free at the Tower.

“Best advice was 'get there early'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

We took TA advice arriving before opening time, buying tickets using the 2 for 1 deal and were lined up at the entrance at opening time. Dragged DH directly to the Crown Jewels which we could view at our leisure (we took the conveyor belt past on both sides). Once we were finished, we discovered the next (first?) Yeoman Warder's tour wasn't until 10am so we looked in the Medieval Castle and walked along some of the castle walls. The Yeoman Warder tour was brilliant. Steve kept us well entertained for an hour after which we toured through the White Tower. By the time we left, the place was teeming with people and there were queues everywhere.

“Worth While”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

I was delighted with this attraction.
Our tour guide (or Yeoman/ Beefeater) was fantastic, entuasiatic and loves his job!
We found the history really interesting and the kids in the group seemed to love it too!
Go early... we spent ages looking around each area and then missed out on one cus everyting closed at 6.

“Give yourselves enough time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

There is lots to see and do, including guided tours (free) from the beefeaters. It may seem quite expensive initially, but once you see the array of medieval buildings they have to maintain you will see where the money goes. Crown jewels are currently in a special diamond jubilee display and are well worth a visit, as is the White Tower (separate tours of this) Lots of benches where you can sit and recover for a few minutes, or watch the ravens or the changing of the guard, and a cafe/restaurant with different styles of food to choose from.

“LOVED IT A MUST SEE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

Loved it all. A major history lover so this was the place to see. Get there early and plan on spending the better part of the day as there is so much to see. You will walk and walk and walk---wear those comfortable shoes. I would recommend taking one of the tours offered at the beginning. It is free and well worth it---gives you an overview and then you can go on your own to explore the areas that interest you.
