It is well worth the time! Our guide was really great and it’s included in the price!! You get all the history behind the Tower of London and our guide was also extremely entertaining! I would highly recommend this for anyone visiting London wanting to see the sights and especially learn some history!

We didn’t plan enough time to do the entire place .. It’s quite large and lots to see and explore . Lots of history, I would recommend booking a tour .

Go early, it gets really crowded as the day goes on. The audio tour was very interesting and informative.

I have been here before, sometimes with friends visiting the country, this time with my (disabled) nephew from France. Wheelchairs are available if requested and some effort has been made to accommodate disabled visitors. The Tower is large. Public access is good and there is a good reception area which deals well with large tourist numbers. The Tower is not one building but several within a keep. Most date from 12th century, some older. The most famous area contains the Crown Jewels, one of the things one should see once in a lifetime. There is usually a long queue for these. The wardens (Beefeaters) are friendly and always ready to recount stories from history: famous people imprisoned etc. They are good with tourists and popular. This is not a fun fare and perhaps less suitable for younger children, but makes a good day out. Other towers (there are several) are museums of history, armoury etc. Entry fee is about £22 for adults with various tariffs for family etc.

The buildings and the towers are great to see from any direction, but you have to go inside to really appreciate the magnificence and history. Try to take a tour, especially by the Beefeaters who are amazing story tellers. See the jewels, the instruments of torture and be amazed at the history and the life and death this place has witnessed. Several hours should be set aside to fully appreciate.
