We went to the Palace last week. There really wasn't much to see. The exhibits were not all that great. The grounds are huge. We were dropped off by a taxi and the entrance was way far into the property. The flowers were not blooming in the gardens, that would have helped our experience. Another time of the year would have been better.

We were an old couple from abroad who wished to add Kensington palace to a long list of buildings worth admiring in London.
We passed the entrance for visitors twice before a Bobby could direct us.
Interesting Building, but quite pricy considering that a large part was closed for restoration.
Very few possibilities for old people to rest our legs during guiding and talks. The guides were talking too fast, too low. My wife gave up listening.

Reading some of the very bad reviews after our visit makes me wonder if they were at the same place.
The exhibit of Victoria as a child was especially outstanding. There were her drawings, her toys, books, and the room she was born in. There were her clothes, locks of her hair, even her tiaras, and painting at all ages as well as her last photograph. The famous painting of her first council as the new queen was quite interesting as they noted she was wearing white in the painting but mourning black in reality.
Perhaps those that spent more time in the cafe should give it another go

Kensington Palace is located in the western portion of Hyde Park. The structure seems simple from the outside but has much to reveal once inside. The portion open to the public is interesting as its history goes back several hundred years. The talks we were able to attend focused mainly on queen Victoria. There are both furnishings and personal items relating to her rule in many of the rooms but much of the portion of the palace open to the public is sparsely furnished. The building in as of itself is unimpressive but the history makes up for it. It turned out to be a good couple of hours to spend on a dreary London afternoon. Not a must do but very informative.

Stay away from sites that look the Historic Royal Site and are not. They don't tell you about printing out the tickets and then WILL NOT refund you when you are not able to print them out.

stay away from here.
