Accompanied a school trip to here. The place is absolutely gorgeous, the decor and old furniture is so breathtakingly beautifully. The kids were in year 1. So they did enjoy but only because of the school activities, but I wouldn't recommend it for young children. You can't touch anything even by accident. The people there get quite cross if you do! Not too friendly.
The house is quite a gem tucked away in the centre of London.
Visit there if you enjoy a bit of history, architecture and art.

Whilst the collection is fabulous, it is not suitable for young children, and is often too warm in each room. We found the restaurant to be extremely expensive - as my wife pointed out - we are not buying the cutlery / plates, just using them.
Still, it is really an excellent collection, but is only suitable for those who are interested in art.

This is a real gem among galleries in London reached by walking up the street to the right side of Selfridges. Very impressive town house setting with a very impressive collection of French and Dutch paintings. Huge armoury collection as well and lots of pretty miniatures and snuff boxes. Town house setting quite striking and no where near as crowded as the better known museums and galleries.
