It is a famous street in London. It has the original Hard Rock Cafe, and a very nice Sheraton there. You must see the Hrc collection of rock memorabilia

Park Lane is filled with lots of exciting sights to see. There is always something happening and any time we have visited London and this particular area we are never disappointed.

Stayed here for a few nights in 2007. Agree with the other reviewer who stated it's a 3 star hotel at 5 star prices. Staff was constantly fishing for tips. Room furnishing was very dated. Carpetting has that "old" odour. Things work in the hotel, but it was overdue for a renovation. Location (about 300m from Buckingham Palace) was excellent though.

This third stay at the Park Lane just a few weeks ago brought with it more pleasant surprises continuing on a path of continual improvement.

Firstly, I was given a newly renovated room which was very pleasing on the eye and very comfortable. The room was well furnished and decorated with more of a modern touch but still holding to a sense of British traditionalism. The bed - super comfy. The bathroom was phenomenal. Big, bright and with upgraded amenities made getting ready that much easier.

Secondly, the gym has been recently renovated. On previous visits I preferred running outside of the hotel but the recent renovations have pulled me back in. The gym is equipped with good cardio and weight training equipment. The facility has been modernized and is now a good place to go to exercise and let off some steam.

Two pleasant surprises...service and food remain top notch as always ...

Lastly, the location cannot be beat...steps from everything downtown from touristy to urban and cool...

I stayed at the Park Lane mid January 2008 for 6 nights. It is an old hotel - in the grand manner of old British Hotels which means everything works - sort of. The room was clean, the mattress hard, the pillows wierdly soft and the bathroom so old fashioned - I thought there might be an outhouse attached; however, everything worked except for several days we had warm water out of the cold faucet. There was hot water from the hot faucet so there really isn't much to complain about.

The hotel is well located, and quiet. I thought the carpets through out were fine. Is it a 5 star hotel - not in the fashion of an ultra modern 5 star with a plasma large screen TV etc but in the manner of old hotels, it is at least 4 star.
