A quality experience from start to finish. It's not cheap but it lives up to its star billing. We were particularly impressed by how many of the staff used our names, even the maid. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

This was one of the best hotel stays I have ever had. We decided to splurge on a weekend in Claridges rather than another 4/5 star London hotel. It was worth every penny. Gorgeous room, wonderful service and perfect food. Save up and go, was just a great stay...almost like stepping back in time. Glamorous and atmospheric.

We will be back!

Our stay here was disappointing because from the photos of the bedrooms I had expected a much more modern and freshly decorated feel inside. We stayed in 439 so maybe there is another wing which has the rooms featured on the website but the room we had was definitely in need of some upgrading- the cupboards were scratched inside - the safe looked so old and dirty you might need a tetanus shot before touching it, the bathroom sink was blocked and the flush only worked after pressing 4 times quickly... The fen shui was nice however- a wide room and high ceilings gave it an airy feel and the AC (although we didnt use it) was more friendly than some others we have had with their noisy gusts of cold wind. The room was also painted nicely but everythingelse in it was old and not in your classic vintage sort of way. There is no ipod player in the room- I was told one would be arranged but it never was. At 6pm we went down to the bar which is probably made special by the glamorous clientele as it certainly is not special in any way but because it was standing room only we went to Hunter 486 (my favourite bar in W1 at this moment). Generally the staff were incredibly aimiable and helpful if not as attentive to detail or following up. Since we were only there for 1 night we didnt want to spend the evening arranging a change of rooms and preferred to go out to eat (Umu- sushi- also reviewed). Midnight came and notwithstanding the several courses of sushi we got the munchies and ordered a hamburger - not the best thing to order on room service but my husband said (famous last words) ' If there is a hotel where a hamburger will be good it will be here at Claridges'. So when it arrived looking more like 2 star fare at a greasy spoon we decided to send it back- although from our conversation RS they couldnt understand what was wrong with it so I have decided to upload a photo. To be fair we didnt actually eat it but if the soggy fries that came with it were anything to go by then our judging by appearances will have been fair enough. To their credit the Duty Manager on the front desk (who we asked to make sure it did not appear on the bill) did offer us a complimentary one but we politely declined- afterall if you go to the trouble of calling to return it why on earth would you eat it just because its free... Anyhow I think maybe we were just unlucky with the room (less the room service) but I dont think we will be chancing it at Claridges again!

We spent the first night of our honeymoon at Claridges and 25 years later we went back for our Silver Wedding. Not only were we given free champagne, cocktails and exquisite patisseries, but we were upgraded to a suite. The setting was truly luxurious but coupled with such warmth that the experience was wonderful rather than overwhelming. We can't wait to go back -b ut can't wait another quarter of a century. on another occasion we took our daughters there for the champagne tea. Yet again, the service was warm and friendly and we were given so many delicious cakes (including extras for our student daughters to take home) that the cost seemed well worth it.

Staff who not only take care but do care. Authenticity is easy to spot, impossible to fake. From checkin to checkout, I was treated with care and respect. No request too challenging (though I didn't really have any challenging requests) - the room lovely, all amenities top notch.

And just in case you don't believe the little card hanging on the tap in the tub, yes, the bath really does fill incredibly quickly. 10 more seconds and I'd have flooded the 2nd floor.

There are any number of top hotels in London. There is only one Claridges.

Booked a weekend stay for the family to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday so went for the best and were certainly not disappointed.

You might have an idea of famous 5* hotels such as Claridge's to be stuffy and formal - nothing was further from the truth. The care they take in anticipating your needs, from a free Wii console for the children's room to making a point of knowing your name is second to none in our experience. The look on my daughter's face when the maitre'd remembered how she had her eggs at breakfast on the first day - out of all the people there he remembered her order from the previous day.

Booked afternoon tea and were blown away. The kids were particularly impressed that the plates of sandwiches/cakes kept on appearing without being asked for and with the little chocolate handbags.

Clearly not the cheapest hotel in London but certainly the best we have stayed in..... so far.

I have had the pleasure of staying at Claridge 3 or 4 times now and always found the service to be excellent and the old-world feel of the hotel very appealing. The Ramsay restaurant is superb, whereas the food elsewhere is perhaps the only thing I not so impressed by. The rooms are decorated nicely and the bathrooms are great.
