It continues to provide the renown quality for which it was famed and deserves to be similarly so under the new ownership. We were looking forward to breakfast with a river view from the River Room but that was under redecoration so we missed out. Considering I was a fairly fresh amputee in a wheelchair the help we received in getting about was second to none.

Dear CGM594, so sorry you weren't able to enjoy the river view at breakfast because of the River Restaurant's closure, but we are delighted to advise that the restaurant will reopen on Thursday, 2nd May with the brand new launch of Kaspar's Seafood Bar and Grill offering an informal yet luxury dining experience, presented in an elegant Twenties-style setting. The vibrant new design will evoke The Savoy's rich and glamorous past, whilst creating a sought after but relaxed dining environment, where Kaspar, The Savoy's most famous four legged feline will reside. So we really hope that you will have another opportunity to visit The Savoy and the new restaurant in the near future.

What can I say, it's just everything I thought it would be. The staff are outstandingly helpfully, American bar aside, nothing is too much trouble and the personal welcome and escort is second to none. American bar, could be better I found the staff a little rushed and pushy and the room isn't great, far too dark the cocktail menu is like war and peace and you get less than a minute to read it, a stripped out highlights menu might be better, then a relaxing peruse of the proper menu whilst you are enjoying your drink to plan the next. Do not let me put you off, the rest it is five star plus without a fault I could find. Treat yourself.

Room Tip: Our deluxe room was a great size, even for London, the bathroom was almost the same size with a full...

I stayed at the Savoy March 2-5 and had a lovely stay. The hotel is steeped in history(pics of celeb guests of yesteryear, Kaspar the 14th guest cat who rounds up unlucky dinner parties of 13, lovely art and antique elevators), amazing bars and lounges....I highly recommend a visit to the American Bar, and the best tea in London. Sadly my husband fell ill while visitng but the Savoy called a doctor and arranged for an in room visit. Luckily he felt better quickly and we were able to take advantage of all the fantastic amenities, the perfect location and fantastic service of this very special place. Ironically ten years prior to our stay when we were in a much different financial bracket we had tea at the Savoy with dreams of staying one day....it lived up to every expectaion! Cheers!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a tub in the bathroom...the long warm soak after a long day of walking was heave...

Dear Mikeyf1975, how wonderful to discover that after so many years you were finally able to come and stay with us, and that we exceeded your expectations. We are, however, so sorry to learn that your husband was taken ill but obviously delighted that he was soon well enough to continue his exploration of the hotel’s facilities. Thank you for posting such a lovely review and we hope to welcome you both again very soon.

We stayed at the Savoy recently and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe room that was furnished in traditional style and the beds were to die for, so comfortable. We took afternoon tea in the Thames Lobby which was an experience not to be missed, endless pots of tea, very attentive waiters and more than enough sandwiches & cake to satisfy our appetites. We enjoyed the ambience of the American Bar where we had wonderful cocktails whilst listening to a great jazz pianist / singer, just right. One night we dined in Simpsons on the Strand, which is owned by the Savoy and right next door, we took the roast beef as our main which is carved at your table and couldn't have been better. It's not cheap, but if your looking for somewhere special, this hotel is it.

We stayed at the Savoy for 4 days last week and it was perfect. Great location, friendly staff, very clean and it's definitely worth paying the extra for a river view suite. Absolutely beautiful! We are travelling with our 8yr. old daughter and they were very accommodating with a roll in cot.

Room Tip: Upgrade to river view suite and 7th or 8th floor

The hotel has been recently reopened after extensive and expensive renovation and is very elegant and lush. Unfortunately we were not staying, but simply sampling via the afternoon High Tea, celebrating a special family birthday. Our taxi was met by the doorman in top hat and tails, and he made the birthday lady feel very special indeed - assisting her from the car and offering his arm to escort her inside; a small thing, easily done, which set the tone for our 2 plus hours sitting. The service was excellent, and we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. High tea was High Tea - elegantly presented, served with a glass of champagne and endless(constantly refreshed) tea - the variety of which was excellent. Not exactly cheap, but a perfect backdrop and ambience for this sort of celebration.
