I booked the Savoy for our stay in London as we were seeing a show (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be precise!) The service from start to finish was absolutely superb, the check in staff, room staff, butler were second to none and would not rest until they knew we were happy.

It was also my partners birthday and the fact they acted on this by putting a birthday cake in the room was a lovely touch.

We had a River View Suite with separate lounge, the views swept over the Thames from Big Ben to St Pauls and is an amazing site to see, especially at night time. We have stayed in beautiful hotels all over the world and I can honestly say the Savoy was the best of the lot, I can not remember all of the names but Rob the doorman and Alex who carried our bags to the room and saw us out were exceptionally polite and courteous.

The American Bar which serves the most amazing cocktails is also a must visit whilst in the hotel, we retired here once finished at the theatre and the live pianist provides a great atmosphere.

I can guarantee that we will be staying in the Savoy from now on whenever we are in London, worth every penny!!

Many thanks to everyone at the Savoy for making our stay absolutely perfect....we will return!

We stayed in the Savoy at the end of November as part of a relaxing week end in London. The service cannot be faulted. It was excellent.
The room was recently redecorated and of high standard. Fairly sizeable by London standard. Some interesting furniture and interior decoration was used. One interesting feature was the half curved wall and the half curved door at the opposite wall.
Enjoyable stay indeed. The only slight moment was that we could not sit down for a drink in any of the bars, tea room or restaurant in the hotel without prior booking.

As a birthday treat for my partner we decided to enjoy a weekend break in London and stayed at The Savoy where she’s always wanted to go to. From the moment we got out of the taxi and received such a warm welcome until the time that we left the service was simply outstanding. The recent revamp is stunning and overall it was a magical stay over and is worth every penny.

The Savoy was a huge treat for us and it was a huge let down. The door staff welcomed us to the hotel and after that, that's where it went wrong. We were looked upon like we weren't good enough to be at the hotel. We arrived with just small rucksacks as it was only an overnight stay so perhaps we didn't look the "class act" that normally stays at the hotel. Staff on reception treated us with disdain and furthermore did nothing, absolutely nothing to wow us. Not what you expect from a 5*. I'm lucky enough to have stayed in luxury hotels across the world and this just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The room was hot and the a/c hard to adjust to get it cool enough (in the middle of winter!).
My partner and I felt like we were second class citizens and simply just not good enough. What should have been an amazing experience was marred by the service and welcome (or rather un-welcome) we received. I wrote in to express my thoughts and feedback and to date (over a week later) I am still waiting for a reply. Simply not good enough.

Providing the highest standards of service is something we all take great pride in here at The Savoy and it is greatly disappointing to learn that we failed to meet your expectations on this occasion.

I was concerned to read about your arrival experience. This should of course have made you feel truly special and as though you were ‘home from home’. Please be assured that it is never our intention to make guests feel unwelcome, and the fact that you felt ignored has been directly addressed to ensure the welcome and recognition of our guests is absolutely consistent.

Amazing revamp the marble floors are breathtaking ,afternoon tea Devine the sea food resturant
kasbar is exeptional the waiters are not the finished article apart from the young Germnan man soon to be married Good luck .back to the Savoy Art Deco Style. At its finest perhaps more mature staff to make it a perfect experience

Room Tip: All great face the theatre and just soak in the opulence

We celebrated my partners birthday with a stay at The Savoy for two nights with our daughter and we were delighted with the level of service and with the overall quality of this iconic hotel. Each and every member of staff were both courteous and seemingly interested in making our stay a memorable one. The lobby, bars and restaurants ooze genuine class and the room was luxurious decorated in art deco style with nods to the history of the hotel. Our five year old daughter was warmly greeted by the staff and they presented her with a 'casper the cat' toy which went down particularly well...all in all we were absolutely delighted with the hotel and our time spent there.

The service makes this hotel, from the second we got out of the taxi to when we collected the cases they had stored for the day after checkout it was seamless, professional yet friendly. Every member of staff has time to say a few words, ask how your day has been or plans for the day. It made a special treat very special.

Room was not the biggest but still superbly appointed and maintained. Room service was excellent, swift and as with everything well presented, we really enjoyed relaxing with our tea after an afternoon out. However it would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities for just an ad hoc refreshment.

Took an early dinner in Kasper prior to going to a concert, faultless.
Breakfast, the full English was very substantial, we could not face eating lunch even though we both have big appetites
.
We did not have time to try the pool/gym, good excuse not that we need one, to go back.

Yes it is at the expensive end of the market, but, you could easily end up spending a similar amount on something very average.
