I have stayed at the Savoy now on four separate occasions and absolutely love it. It really does define British class and elegance from the moment you step out of your taxi and into their entrance.

Staff are amazing and call you by name. Rooms are wonderful I have stayed in both types but prefer the Edwardian. If your staying for a long period I would suggest trying both.

Beds are wonderful and enjoy how each room is done with a famous person who has stayed in the hotel.

Facilities are great just wish they would fix the jets in the pool.

Amazing location! Just great all around I can actually not pick anything wrong with this hotel. I have stayed in many others in London and this hotel has to be the best!

We (a party of four) have stayed in some five star hotels but I must declare this was our first time in such a renowned establishment . The rooms are practical and not excessive in their decoration and on first impression you might wonder what all the fuss is about this hotel. However, you slowly begin to notice the quality of things, for example the bed mattress. We had two rooms and we all commented on how comfortable our night's sleep was. But the thing which made this hotel stand out was the quality of service offered by all the staff. Everywhere you turned staff were available to help us throughout our stay which resulted in one of the most relaxing breaks we have ever had. I would add that you must have pre dinner cocktails in the famous American Bar which is decorated in a warm art deco design with cream and ochre walls and electric blue and gold chairs. The walls feature the photos of famous guests and a pianist played Gershwin on a baby grand piano in the centre of the room while we sipped our very expensive drinks. (worth every penny) The ambience was superb.

A bit of history
This is a luxury hotel located in central London and was built by impresario Richard D'Oyly Carte with profits from his Gilbert and Sullivan operas. It first opened in 1889 and was the first luxury hotel in Britain to include electric lights throughout the building, electric lifts and bathrooms in the rooms with hot and cold running water. The hotel has been frequented by Royalty and, it is, allegedly where Queen Elizabeth first met Prince Philip. Other wealthy guests and diners one of which was Winston Churchill who frequently took his cabinet to lunch at the hotel. Additional rich and famous, people such as George Gershwin, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne Noël Coward. Edward VII, Caruso, Chaplin, Harry Truman, Joan Crawford, Judy Garland, Bette Midler, Babe Ruth, Laurence Olivier, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and numerous others have also frequented this prestigious hotel.

I recently stayed at the Savoy Hotel in London for a special birthday weekend. We took advantage of a fabulous Sunday package offer which included 3 course delicious dinner at Simpsons in the Strand or Thames Foyer or Kaspers in the hotel. The offer also included full English breakfast as well as gorgeous room with fabulous chandelier. The bathroom was totally marble with fabulous walkin shower and huge bath. Bathrobes and slippers were provided. The package also included full English breakfast served again in a choice of either the Thames Foyer, Kaspers restaurant or Simpsons in the Strand. We opted for breakfast in the Savoy Thames Foyer and it was awesome. You had a choice though. if you preferred you could have a Chinese breakfast, an Americian breakfast, a Continental breakfast or an English breakfast.

We opted for the English and it was the best,. Pastries and toast was served on a 3 tier stand with full English breakfast served as you liked, with copious amounts of ice water, fresh orange juice and tea. All served on royal doulton china. You can buy the china in the Savoy shop along with fabulous cakes and pastries, chocolates and gifts for family and friends.

If you are looking for somewhere extra special to spoil a loved one or to treat your family if you have someone you need to thank you can do no better than to book them a Sunday night package at the Savoy. Absolutely fabulous and great value offer.

But if you want to take full advantage of this hotel, don't go out during your stay, explore and enjoy the hotel and its facilities. It has a fabulous roof top swimming pool, sauna and spa and small gym. After you use these facilities and feel relaxed, go and enjoy a fabulous cocktail in the American bar before dinner. Return to the American bar for after dinner drinks, you will feel like you have won the lottery. The American bar is the place to be coupled with a pianist to make you feel even special on your Savoy weekend.

Room Tip: Advise when booking if you are celebrating an occasion or if the booking is a surprise for someone e...

I stayed at The Savoy with my daughter on our last night in London after our European holiday. The Savoy is such a iconic hotel, the service was good and our room (deluxe twin) was furnished very nice but was quite small, luxury bathroom amenities. Location is good (although preferred our Covent Garden hotel location). No tea & coffee making facilities in room or iron.

Our daughter treated us to a night away in London, Staying at The Savoy Hotel. Well the hotel certainly has the WOW factor. We were greeted out of our Vauxhall Insignia and treated no different to any other guest who were staying. The staff did not mind us taking photos and were willing to take us on a tour of the hotel.
Very polite lovely staff. Great room especially our bathroom, the bed was huge but nearly broke my ankle. As i forgot how high up it was.
The only negative was that breakfast was not included in the price or a cup of tea.The night life around the hotel was very entertaining and the pubs very welcoming. A real delight.

Room Tip: Not sure what a good room is, I expect all the rooms are very good. You get what you pay for. No br...

I used to go to the Savoy before the refurb, often eating a the Grill, with directors board meetings in the pannelled private rooms , loved it back then. Nights on the town often saw us in the bar for a night cap and to organise a black cab home; SO having been away from London for a while, when out with friends in London, where better to go to round off the evening than to go ans check out the re-looked Savoy! We were not disappointed! The opulence remains but with a modern refreshed look - we headed for one of the many the cocktail bars and enjoyed a cocktail called "blue bird" and the single malts, sat on squishy comfy sofas (which you can reserve) listening to the piano, after a last visit to the stunning "ladies", we wafted home ....the perfect end to our evening,
