“Excellent experience for Shakespeare lovers”

I went for the "high-end" seats in the gallery, rather than the standing-room "groundlings" section. The seating in the gallery could be made a little more comfortable, considering the length of the plays.

But seeing the play (in my case, Antony and Cleopatra, with a dazzling performance by Eve Best) in this theatre was fantastic, and worth every penny.

There's "traditional" food and drinks outside the actual theatre, and the atmosphere is quite enjoyable, and a there's a lovely view of the river Thames right outside.

“Beautiful facility”

If you are a fan of Shakespeare then you must see a show at the Globe. The casts are first rate and the productions outstanding. Tickets are also much more reasonable than shows on the West End. If you want to pretent to be a Groundling pay 5 Pounds to stand in the pit area and you will have an interactive experience. The shows are produced to evoke the same type of experience you would have during Shakespeare's time. Don't miss this piece of British history.

“Interesting for Fans of the Bard”

Though this is not the original structure, it is still worth visiting the Globe theatre. Shakespeare's plays are regularly performed there and the building itself exudes a sort of old-world charm that makes you feel entering it will transport you back in time to a balcony in Verona or a Scottish battlefield. It's also very close to the Tate, the Millennium Bridge and not very far from the Tower of London.

“Shakespeare at his best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We saw a RSC production for the second time visiting London.
As we have friends in London, we asked the tickets to be sent to them, as they don't send tickets abroad.
This theatre - being built without a single penny of public money - is a very special experience. Built to match the original Globe of Shakespeare's times, it gives you a really genuine experience.
We had seats very Close to one side of the stage.
The drawback was that we did not understand everything, as of course the actors were speaking in all directions.

“Once in a lifetime experience”

Even if you are not into theatre so much, please just go and see a play there. The historical building itself is a must see, but the plays... You have to experience it yourselves. Just seen "King Lear" and i am shocked.
