“Typical Four Seasons”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2013

This was a typical Four Seasons hotel for us in that it's a great hotel compared to the entire spectrum of hotels, but average for Four Seasons (that's not a complaint). The service was excellent, as the staff was very responsive. The restaurant is supposed to be Italian, but was more Mediterranean. We were going to see a play at 7:30 (Phantom of the Opera, don't go, I have no idea how plays like that stay around long), so we wanted to eat dinner at 5:30, but the restaurant doesn't open until 6:30. They seated us anyway, but we had to order from the room service menu. Better than most restaurant options at that time, but not as good as a typical Four Seasons restaurant.

I haven't stayed anywhere else in London and so can't compare it to other options there, but we would stay there again if we visited.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is unique although the room I stayed in was small and what I did not like was the mattress. OLD, LUMPY and UNEVEN. Something I did not expect from Four Seasons. I could have changed room but by the time you get into bed late after work, the last thing you want to be doing is walking the hallways changing rooms in the middle of the night.

We stayed here at the end of April 2013 for four nights. I stay fairly regularly at Four Seasons when I can, and this property - while nice - was somewhat disappointing. The rooms are incredibly small for the price, and while I realize London is capacity constrained, I don't believe that a Four Seasons should offer rooms as small as these. Additionally, the inside of the rooms is somewhat cheesy and doesn't have the usual Four Seasons glam; instead of a rich, luxurious feel, it appears to be somewhat plasticy/gimmicky. Despite the disappointing amenities, the staff was very kind and helpful, which boosted my review to four stars, not three. If you're in London and not spending much time in your room, then I'd recommend staying here. If you have a lot of downtime, definitely elect for the Deluxe rooms, since the smaller option is more like a shoebox.

Room Tip: If you choose one of the smaller rooms, ask for one on the corner because those are about 100 square...

The hotel is centrally located for our sight seeing trip yet still quite convenient for the one business meeting we had to attend. We were pleasantly surprised at how calm and relaxing the insides of the hotel turned out; not what we were expecting from the busy corner of Park Lane where it is located.

The room itself was quiet and comfortable. All amenities we needed were at our fingertips. Apart from messing up our newspaper request a few times, the service was excellent.

There is a bit of a wait for taxis quite often but I guess that is just the nature of a large city.

Room Tip: Higher floors and not looking into another hotel in front of this one.

We arrived two days early which went so smoothly with the help of Assistant Front Desk Manager, James Muzika. The entire staff of the hotel were fabulous and made us feel so welcome. The suite was pure luxury with wonderful lighting, beds and linens. Take in the views from the lounge up in the Spa, no appointment necessary. Perfect location for getting around London.

Room Tip: Mayfair suites have a great view with floor to ceiling windows in Living Room.

The rooms are ok upgrade cost more money for only limited space actually arrogant offer which
we didn't take it as it was a hard sell for over 1000 pounds like we had the cash and didn't have to think about it
The staff are mixed between over servicing and not that into their job
Somehow the feeling here is not cohesive in warmth or standard
Food at breakfast was always slow and not great but expensive
Room service was average and again slow
Staff in lounge are preoccupied and not at all genuine
Personally didn't like the design or decor of this new refurb
Concierge are way over worked and don't have time for volume of requests
A lot of expecting tips and that feeling that you don't like at hotels
Can't rate this like other four seasons.wanted to love it but didn't leave feeling great
Many better choices in London and many better deals on room rates
It might be great for business travellers but that's all
Spa and lounge are nice view but don't offer much in the way of refreshments or touches you expect form this sort of hotel
Training of staff must move towards seeing guests as humans not $$ and start to care sincerely to make it better experience
Plenty of potential and ability here to transform the place
Great tv and room stereo technology etc .... Great gym with view and equipment first class
They did try to make me feel special and at times this was fine but can't say I would return here

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent stay with us on TripAdvisor. We greatly appreciate your feedback and while we are delighted you enjoyed the rooftop spa and gym, and our in room technology, we are sorry that you also had some disappointing comments to make. Please rest assured we have taken all your points on board for immediate consideration as this was clearly not up to our usual Four Seasons standards. We have been fortunate to receive many complimentary reviews since the hotel's re-opening in 2011 and I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again for a second visit.

Yours Sincerely
John Stauss, General Manager

The staff and room were amazing! We truly loved this hotel! Our room was small compared to hotels in the United States but the accommodations and service were superb in every way! The finest hotel I have ever stayed in.
