“Credit were its due A Quality Hotely and First Class Staff”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

I assess my awards of five stars against my favourite hotel and so i dont give it often but found reviewing the Halkin particularly interesting. Its not my favourite hotel but i have to give them five stars because they didn't do anything wrong on the contrary the staff go the extra mile to do everything right. If i wanted a quiet luxury retreat, great location not far from Knightsbridge the Thames and many other London Attractions it might be at the top of my list.
From the moment we arrived you feel like you matter and the staff ( some of the finest we have met are a real asset to the hotel) go out of their way to make everything as perfect as possible during your stay.
The bar reflects the hotel for me small personal quiet and tasteful.
The bar staff made amazing cocktails we went in for pre dinner and for one last drink before we left, if you wanted peace and quiet they left you alone but if you wished to engage in conversation know more about the drinks or just for them to be sociable they moved into that mode with a genuine ease.
We ate in the Ametza restaurant and had the taster menu and accompanying wines, once again the staff went to great lengths to take you on a culinary journey sharing their passion for Spanish food and wine with you. Rooms are well equipped furnished and beds and bedding very comfortable. Breakfast the following morning was lovely and unlike a number hotels with the uncooked parts of breakfast done as help yourself everything is done to personal order and brought to your table i got the impression if you moved for something they would have been horrified.. Not cheap but quality tends to cost. For me it was a lovely experience but i prefer places with a little bit more atmosphere The greatest testament for the hotel is it was obvious to us that some guests used it as a regular stop over in the Capital if you can afford and want peace and quiet i can understand why.

Dear mkdon5,

Many thanks for your fabulous and very detailed review of The Halkin by COMO. I was delighted to read about your various encounters with my team and that you had such a pleasant overall experience from a culinary aspect as well as from a service aspect. I have to agree that The Halkin is especially suitable for people who like the tranquillity and comfort of a small boutique hotel and would very much welcome the opportunity to personally welcome you back on a future occasion.

The Halkin is an excellent hotel, in a really good yet quiet location, handy for the central London sights and right by Knightsbridge and Buckingham Palace. Service really stood out for us as being excellent throughout our stay, room was very well presented and spacious (we had a superior room). When we go back to london this will be top of our hotel list.

We wanted somewhere a little special to spend a few short days back in London on a visit home from Sweden - we had spent a night at The Halkin a number of years back and thought it would be just the ticket. Location is great and so is the ambiance of this quiet and classy boutique hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and always there to help.
We booked ahead and directly with the hotel through their website and got a very good deal - which was even better when we arrived to find we had been given a very welcome upgrade to a really well appointed suite, FANTASTIC!

Stayed here on business recently and the hotel is very good. Positives:

1. The rooms are all refurbished to a very high standard. I had a room with a heated floor in the loo which was welcome.
2. Rooms, even near the dreaded elevator, are very quiet. Halkin Street is a very quiet street just south of Hyde Park Corner and gets very little street traffic.
3. Location is good near Hyde Park Corner and close to Belgrave Square, Picaddilly/Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Victoria, Parks, etc. Hotel is steps away from Hyde Park Corner tube.
4. The hotel is a boutique and the experience feels quite exclusive.

Negatives:

1. Bar area is very small and service was poor.
2. Not enough complimentary stuff in the room (like water, juices, etc).

Overall, a very good experience. Would stay again if I needed to do so.

Great service, great hotel, great EVERYTHING.
The manager (i think), Stefano, upgraded our room to a suite because it's my friend's birthday! Wonderful suite with wonderful living room, bedroom and bathroom!! They even provided cake, welcome drink to rooms and helped with our humungous luggage.
The location is great. Right beside the Hyde Park and beside a tube station. Everything was PERFECT. It's in close proximity to many many Michelin star restaurants (which they can book for you! wootz) and even at the hotel, they have a Michelin Star restaurant too.
No complaints, maybe except the hefty price tag, but seriously, for what we got, I think it's super value for money!
Highly recommend to those going to London and do not want to stay at mainstream international hotels. This is a great quiet 41 room hotel at wonderful location of London:)

Room Tip: The suite is beautifuL:)

Recently I stayed for a weekend, perfect calm area but just minutes away from Hyde Park and Harrods. The hotel is impressive, design, room size, amenities, attentiveness of the staff, etc. Also the little bar is quite but they produce a superb cocktails! Perfect for a weekend. Surely we will come back!

Room Tip: Fifth floor rooms are really stylish and different also quieter. Ask for them!

Great hotel in a great location, on a quiet street in Belgravia, but a short walk from Victoria, Sloane St, Hyde Park etc. Stayed here twice on business within the last month, first in a King Double room, and then in a King Superior room. The Double was very well appointed, and although smallish, was perfectly adequate for a short stay. Bathroom clean, but small with only a shower over the bath. Superior was room was similarly well appointed, larger, and had a walk-in shower. Both rooms light and airy, but had excellent curtains and blinds. Fresh blueberries, raspberries and strawberries every day was a nice touch! Fantastic water pressure, but shower regulator had difficulty coping with other users nearby - beware very hot or cold temperature fluctuations until thermostat regulates itself again.
Very friendly and efficient staff - will stay here again
