Well worth a visit. Lovingly restored and the guided tour is very informative and engaging. Lovely views of green park from the big bay windows and it is amazing to think of the family in the past enjoying this house and using it as a residence in London. Very enjoyable tour.

Really unusual as people just haven't heard of this little palace in the middle of St James's. In the week it is office space and on Sunday for £12 you can visit the palatial rooms (8 in total). It turns out that nothing is authentic as it was all removed to Althorp but that doesnt negate how special it is, the reproductions are works of art in their own right and the guide gives you a fascinating insight to some of the people who dine here and hire it. If you are in London on a sunday go. Only timed tickets and on a first come first serve basis.

Only open on Sundays,if you're in town then Do Not miss. Beautiful and grand Spencer family home worth seeing for the outstanding tour given by very knowledgeable and interesting guides.
Lots of history and antiques. Close to Green Park Tube Station.

I really cannot recomend this tour of Spencer House enough, owned privayely by Lord Rothschild and so only open on a Sunday. The house is beautiful and well worth a visit but the visit is massively enhanced by the imformative, fun and knowledgeable lady that takes you around. Myself and my mother arrived there on a horrible wet Sunday with suitcases but the staff at Spencer house could not have been more helpful, having a secure cloakroom where we could leave our luggage and wet coats was a bonus that allowed us to enjoy this fabulous tour all the more. Do not be put off by the fact that it is a tour, you would never get the same enjoyment out of just wandering around this house. Allow just over an hour for the tour though it so unformal that I guess it varies depending on how much interest the visitors show. Do make sure to check exactly how to get there as it is down a small street though very convenient for Green Park Tube.
