Had Sunday lunch with friend and family. Had the Butternut Squash soup, Bruschetta, and chicken caesar salad as starters, Lamb, Italian sausages, Fish Cakes for main, and the Affogato, Rubarb crumble and Profiteroles for dessert, topped with a nice bottle of Kim Crawford Pinot Noir from NZ. Service was just adequate. Food was all very good. Soup was excellent as were the sausages and lamb. Nice wine list and good beers on tap. Fires in the two fireplaces but place was a little cold on early Sunday afternoon as the fires were not giving off enough heat and it is generally a bit weak on atmosphere, being a bit on the plain side. But it's a solid neighborhood gastro pub, so not to complain too much. Would definitely go for lunch if I were in the neighborhood, though not the kind of place you would go all the way across town to eat at. Outside seating at picnic tables in warm weather, but likely to be sitting next to smokers.
