“Wonderful Hotel”

Loved this place; it was quiet and clean. It's five minutes from a major underground station and walking distance to the V&A and Harrod's. Leoni and her husband are perfect hosts. I loved the elegant breakfast room. And the price was right!

We stayed at Aster House for 8 nights in April and were very pleased with our choice. A good value for the money. The managers Leonie and Simon were very helpful and attentive. The location is a pretty, quiet neighborhood in South Kensington, an easy walk to the Underground and there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. We were glad to come “home” in the evening to a less hectic neighborhood after being in the thick of the crowds and the city all day – it was a nice respite. Our room (Room #5) was immaculate, spacious for a B&B and nicely done – the bathroom was a little smaller than in the US (we expected this), but was also nicely done and very clean. Breakfast was good - an assortment of breads and pastries, cereals, meats cheeses, scrambled and poached eggs, baked beans and the woman who handles breakfast works like the dickens to keep things fully stocked and coffee cups full. We’d go back again.

I signed up to trip advisor just to give this review (plus cab drivers in Nice). This place is in a perfect location - 1 1/2 blocks from a tube station and close to a lot of sights. We even took the tube from St Pancras station and to Heathrow when we left. Lot's of good restaurants in the neighbourhood and the staff running the B & B are outstanding. Well worth the price - would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Following an Ocean Princess cruise that including 4 places in Iceland and 2 ion NOrway, we stayed 3 nites at this small b&b on a quiet residential street 1 1/2 blocks from the South Kensington metro. Our standard twin on the third floor (4th fl by european stds as ground is 0) overlooking the front , while small , was comfortable and immaculate with a canopied bed equivalent to a King, writing desk and chair, closet for a good amount of storage tho we had 2 carryons only, digital tv and needed ac in the 93F heat wave then in london. . There is no elevator but the small staff took our bags to the room. There is a large breakfeast room where we had our included hot and cold brk, and an outdoor garden with a few geese and a swan. Internet was available to print our boarding passes. At $300 per night it's not inexpensive b ut this is london, the b&b is central, spotless, and has ac which you can't say for most places in london. further near the corner is another b&b, 16 sumner pl, more luxurious and $450 a nite.

V&A is a easy 7-10 minute 3 block walk,Harrods about a 15 minute walk on the same street as the V&A, west end theatres 10 minute Pic line ride. Many neighborhood restaurants but you should especially not miss the gelato store, Scoops, diagonal to the SK tube and Rocca di Penne, an very nice italian resaurant about 1 block away, great food and service , and very reasonable for london standards and compared to the other ital eats in the area.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our four days at Aster House. Great location, wonderful staff, comfy beds. Would highly recommend and would love to stay here again. They arranged our transports from the airport and cruise terminal. Easy access to underground and restaurants. Very close to museums and shops. Quiet neighborhood. Thank you Rick Steves for this great find.

I have stayed here twice while traveling through Europe. Both stays have been great. You are going to pay top dollar for your stay but frankly the location is perfect for exploring London. I stayed in a single room which was small but the service was good and the room was clean. I would gladly stay a third time and recommend it to friends.

I made reservations at the Aster House based on recommendations of others, so I am paying it forward. I made reservations several months in advance, called the last few weeks and ask to be picked up at Heathrow all five of us and our luggage. Aster House made the arrangements, a driver holding a sign with our name on it was waiting with a large "people carrier" that's English for van! We arrived at Aster House just after lunch, and our rooms were ready!! Oh, blissful time. Always we are told NOT to take a nap, but continue on until regular bedtime and get on other country's time schedule. CANNOT do it, have to have a little nap, then I can function. So we happily went to bed in our lovely rooms in our lovely beds. The Aster House sits on a residential street, quiet, serene, well decorated, wonderful breakfast every day. Our hostess was just lovely as well as helpful, informed and generous with her time to talk to us. There are lots of stairs, so if stairs bother you, ask for rooms on first floor. You will still have to climb a couple of stairs to gorgeous breakfast room surrounded by windows. Sound perfect? It is.
