The south bank is a great place to just take your time and absorb London, we took our kids to the sealife centre and when we came out decided to just walk along the river, you really don't appretiate what a lovely city we have until you see it from a different view. The walk is lovely you get all the street performers and the odd little funfare. Can recommend it to any one, families, couples or if your bored at work, GO for a walk along the South Bank !!

I love this walk along South Bank. It takes you on a path where you can see many of the famous landmarks of London from across the river. It gives way to great views of Westminster, Big Ben, and the whole city skyline. You pass all of the famous and unique bridges and will stumble upon many restaurants and bars. Be sure to venture to the Borough Markets near the London Bridge!

It is hard to explain the attraction of a stroll along the South Bank. It always feels as if you have ducked out of the heart of the real action - just across the river are the centres of power, of government, of commerce, of popular entertainment... and here you are, looking across at it all. (This is said with all due respect to the great Brutal Culture Sheds of the RFH, National Film Theatre etc.!)

The fact is, at any time of year, it is kind of magic. I don't know how many times I have walked every section from Westminster to Tower Bridge - there is always something to see and do, with food options better and better. Special highlights are often street food behind the RFH, and the little gallery at the OXO tower, which often has great photo exhibitions.
