I loved this place. Not only is the building beautiful, but there are artworks of every type to see there....I was in heaven seeing Van Gogh, and Monet and Degas

As we only had a short time to visit, we chose The National Portrait Gallery. There are few, if any, countries that open national treasures such as this to the public free-of-charge. The portraits are well set out and both the subject and the artist explained. The main benefit is that numerous visits are required - it's a never-ending source of pleausre and education.

Loved how well it is organized. Especially like the fact that there is a historical cadence to it. We tagged along with one of the many tour guides explaining the significance and the techniques that the great masters used. Titians, Rennaissance masters, flat monochromatic religious art to vibrant scene stealing color. Awesome awesome experience.

My advice is to wait for one of those typical London afternoons where it is drizzling outside and spend it with this masterpiece of a museum. Well worth the visit
