“Great breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2012 via mobile

I didnt stay at the hotel but I sat in the sun on Sunday and had breakfast outside the hotel, really friendly and helpful staff and tasty food. The hotel has a really smart London feel and I will certainly be back fr another post swim breakfast.

Stayed one night with my daughters before travelling off on our summer holidays. Great location for theatres, and restaurants. Lovely staff - very friendly, asking what we were going to be doing that day, and then remembering and asking later. Room was lovely - very quiet, super toiletries and great shower(s). We enjoyed breakast, and had dinner before leaving for the airport - the food was very good but one slight negative was the noise. The restaurant also has a cocktail bar which is very popular and I am sure if you are at the bar enjoying a cocktail it has a real "buzz". If you are trying to have a pleasant family dinner it is a little too buzzy ! The concierge were great - ordered a car for us, remembered names without asking. Will probably go back or try another Firmdale hotel.

I returned this afternoon from London and my first stay at Covent Garden Hotel. I have enjoyed the experiences at 2 of its sister properties and looked forward this visit. I was not disappointed. First, its location is superb...5 minute walk to the Piazza and the chic shopping and dining of Covent Garden area. The hotel itself has the same unique decor and style of other hotels in this chain, but seems to make much more sense to me. The hotel staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. The restaurant, Brasserie Max offers delicious food and a fine wine selection. The room was comfortable, quiet, and reasonably priced for London. All things considered, I would not think of staying elsewhere on any subsequent visit.

Room Tip: Stayed in Room #5. The best shower I have ever experienced in Europe...so much water the drain could...

This was our 7th or 8th stay at the Covent Garden Hotel and I think that says it all really. It's just such a lovely place to go back to. The location and superb facilities aside it really is the staff that make staying here such a pleasure. From the moment the taxi draws up to the hotel, the doormen always remember us and then into the beautiful reception to be gereeted like long lost friends at reception.
We were here on this occasion for our son's 21st and the hotel very kindly upgraded him to the Covent Garden Loft Suite....this being his first visit to the hotel he was amazed!
We had champagne in the bar and the waiter brought him a birthday cupcake complete with chocolate writing and a candle, very nice of them.
Unfortunately we didn't eat in the restuarant as we went to The Ivy which the concierge helpfully arranged for us.
Room service breakfast was as fantastic as ever and then sadly we had to leave.
I can't wait to go back and it definately won't be long. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

The staff in this hotel went the extra mile during the London Olympics. From promt service to finding transportation. They did it all with great efficiency and a big smile. Great location. I will be back

Our third stay at Covent Garden Hotel and enjoyed it as much as the first. Brilliant location, lovely rooms, love the Guest lounge and library, but the staff are the standout ! So helpful, friendly and efficient, particularly the Reception and Concierge guys and girls. Our home away from home in London, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a brilliant experience in a brilliant location !

Room Tip: Base rooms are small, pay the extra for next level up !

A beautiful boutique hotel with loads of character. Top 10 reasons to stay here:
1.) Fantastic location-near the theatre district and close to museums
2.) A short walk to 3 Tube stops
3.) Nestled on a quiet street
4.) A friendly staff
5.) Concierge can get you where you need to go
6.) Beautifully decorated rooms
7.) Meticulous daily room cleaning
8.) A cozy parlor and library to relax in after a busy day in London
9.) Nice restaurant in the hotel
10.) Greyhound lovers will enjoy some great statues and paintings

Loved this hotel so much, I wanted to pick it up and take it home with me.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Covent Garden Hotel opened in April 1996 but the building dates back to the 1890’s when it operated as a French hospital. It is located in Monmouth Street, a charming cobbled street in the heart of the theatre district and surrounded by interesting boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars. Covent Garden Hotel is "a quirky modern take on traditional English style." The hotel's interior has been dramatically designed by owner and design director Kit Kemp, and reflects her personal attention to detail. The ground floor is just like a stage set. A quietly bustling lobby leads into Brasserie Max, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Up a sweeping stone staircase and into a sumptuous wood paneled drawing room and library, each with a log burning fireplace, quirky furniture and vivid upholstery. Downstairs there is a gym, private event space and a screening room. ... more   less
