We have been lucky enough to stay in many fantastic places around the world but this hotel for us is just so comfortable, chic & homely

As always a great stay, staff amazing, especially if you have a chance to chat to them.
Nothing was too much trouble.
A perfect location, close to most of London's attractions.
Love it !

Me and my sister visited for afternoon tea on Friday afternoon. The hotel has a very traditional style from the moment you step in. Immediately to our left we entered the brasserie which is where our afternoon tea was served. The interior was just right for afternoon tea with floral covers on the seating and grand traditional decor. The staff were incredibly polite and the service was excellent.
We selected the traditional afternoon tea was delicious from the sandwiches which were a selection of egg & cress, salmon and cream cheese and cucumber. Beef was also available but we opted out of this as we don't eat it. The selection of cakes were equally as delicious as we're the warm scones with jam and clotted cream. Overall a splendid visit. We will certainly be back.

We stayed here just before Christmas and from the moment that we arrived we knew we had chosen the right hotel. Checking in was quick and efficient, the staff were lovely as well as efficient, things that do not always go together. We were given a room on the lower ground, which initially I found off putting as there were no "proper windows" but very I very soon forgot my concerns as the room was beautifully apportioned. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom, with Miller Harris accessories, luxurious. The hotel itself is positioned within easy walking distance from the centre of Covent Garden. It was no problem to amble to the shops or restaurants. We stayed two nights and enjoyed, both an evening meal in the restaurant which was very well presented and tasty and afternoon tea which I particularly enjoyed. The tea was very generous and I found I had no room to eat again that day. One comment that I would make was that we found the bar very busy and rather over crowded - be prepared to wait if you want a seat! A last thing to mention is the fabulous breakfast. Part of the breakfast is in the form of a buffet but anything hot is cooked especially for you and was delicious. This hotel is not cheap but if you are looking for a special night away I would recommend that you look here.

Stayed here with friends on my Son's recommendation as he works in Covent Garden and had been told how good it is. Last year we stayed in the Corinthian so it had a lot to live up to, but it did and more!. We had a suite and it was stunning, we also looked at some other rooms and they are all individual and all very nicely finished. Attention to detail is amazing and the staff are all exceptional, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel had a really nice atmosphere and felt much more personal than larger hotels. The location couldn't be better, so close to Covent Garden and all it has to offer. This is at the top end on price, our suite was over £500 per night, but we didn't begrudge a penny of it, it really is one the very best we have stayed at.

Room Tip: No pool, we had room 3 and it was amazing.

Don't let the official star rating put you off this wonderful boutique hotel. As you would expect, it is on the edge of Covent Garden. Expect a faultless personal service, in bespoke rooms with wonderful food. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny. One of the few hotels I revisit regularly, and if it is full, the other Firmdale Hotels are worth a look.

A basement gym and screening room, a ground floor brasserie and a first floor lounge - create lovely public spaces.

Rooms are well equipped - with free wifi, bedside radio, bottled water. No tea making facilities but very efficient room service. One of the few hotels I recommend.

We went in for a cup of tea and as the place filled up we moved onto cocktails. Buzzy bar, great service but the tables are too close to each other, waitress kept bumping our table and knocked over a full cocktail, replaced it but not for free!

Great place though, just choose your table!

Perfect location for Museum, shopping and musical theaters. Room was beautiful, the bed especially comfortable. We had the most wonderful afternoon tea in the library. The service was incredibly nice and efficient. They were very helpful as our flight got cancelled and we had to stay one more unscheduled night there (which I didn't mind !)

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Covent Garden Hotel opened in April 1996 but the building dates back to the 1890’s when it operated as a French hospital. It is located in Monmouth Street, a charming cobbled street in the heart of the theatre district and surrounded by interesting boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars. Covent Garden Hotel is "a quirky modern take on traditional English style." The hotel's interior has been dramatically designed by owner and design director Kit Kemp, and reflects her personal attention to detail. The ground floor is just like a stage set. A quietly bustling lobby leads into Brasserie Max, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Up a sweeping stone staircase and into a sumptuous wood paneled drawing room and library, each with a log burning fireplace, quirky furniture and vivid upholstery. Downstairs there is a gym, private event space and a screening room. ... more   less
