“La Grande Dame of Knightsbridge”

We came for our wedding anniversary and were looked after in every way, excellent service which is what you would expect along with thoughtful touches such as champagne and roses in our room.

Knightsbridge room very comfortable and not too noisy although could do with updating.

Bar lively and atmospheric; Bar Boloud was excellent. Heston's was very good but more pomp than ceremony.

It is number one location in Knightsbridge and thoroughly enjoyed.

The hotel is in a great location convenient to the Tube, several bus lines and lots of major department stores and shops.

The toiletries provided in the guest rooms were from Ormonde Jayne and were made specifically for the hotel- they were great!

I had a room overlooking Horse Guard Parade and was disappointed to have a large wooden desk and mirror covering the view from the windows. The room decor was dated and could use an update with a bit more of a modern touch.

Overall, the hotel was good but far from excellent as I have expected from other MO hotels around the world.

The spa is by far, the star of this property! Great amenities and great way to spend a few hours relaxing.

Room Tip: Room facing Horse Guard Parade would be great IF desks weren't covering windows!

With that said, however, we were most disappointed to learn that you were not entirely satisfied with every aspect of your experience, primarily as a result of our room product.

Service excellence is the pillar on which we build upon, and our aim is to consistently provide this to all our guests, so I am therefore disappointed the product let us down this time. We stayed here for 5 nights. From the moment our car pulled up to the hotel, the spectacular service started...and it never stopped. From RIchard, the most friendly doorman, to the honest house cleaner, who found my emerald earring and left it next to my bed, each hotel employee was most helpful, friendly, and genuine. Need a restaurant reservation? Ask the concierge desk hard working men. Even when I called from Trafalgar Square, they were able to make a reservation trouble-free for that evening.
The hotel is perfectly located in Knightsbridge. Harrod's is just down the street and Harvey Nichols (think Barneys) is across the street. One block away and a view from our hotel window is gigantic Hyde Park. Taxis can be found right at the hotel. A walk to Buckingham Palace is about 15 minutes tops. Same amount of time to Regent Street and Mayfair area.
Our hotel room was a nice size. Every amenity is provided in the room. I found the bed to be too hard for me so I went to the check in desk. The problem was solved immediately. Pillow tops were put on the mattress and the bed was more than comfortable.
I can't say enough positive about this hotel. Definitely worth the extra dollar.

This remains one of my favourites in the world Mr McHale and his outstanding team make each visit something to look forward to every time. The Mandarin is always my chain of choice they provide the epitome of 5 star service - from accommodation to service to dining Next time you want to make your trip to London special stay at the Mandarin

It's a great Grand Hotel in an ideal location in Knightsbridge and right on Hyde Park with great restaurants and bar and great service but the rooms all badly need modernisation and not just a paint job!

Having stayed in other Mandarin Orientals in my time, to be honest this was a little disappointing, bearing in mind the star rating. to start with the positives, the staff were all very welcoming and courteous. nice sized room, great bar, fantastic location for central London. BUT. the furniture was a little knocked and tired looking, there also wasn't any communal lounge area to talk about, so if your meeting people there really isn't anywhere unless you go to the bar, which is noisy. Another bug bear of mine is that you have to pay for the use of the internet, which in this day and age is absurd; it seems the larger hotels feel that they have the right to charge for this service, where as in smaller hotels its free,

Firstly it has to be 5 stars for this phenomenal hotel. It is a gem, super building, lovely room, excellent service, tendency to go above and beyond at every opportunity. Beautiful attention to detail. Only one small grumble. We had a package for 2 people which Included our breakfasts, but not breakfast for the 3rd member of our party - our 8 year old daughter. So £34 was added to the bill for her breakfast which seemed a bit steep as she had 4 rashers of bacon, a muffin and a bread roll! I happily paid as the whole experience had been grand but I did think - wow that's about £6 per rasher!!
