We went there for a family gathering. What a joy it was. From the rooms, the evening location to the restaurant - everything is 1st class. We all enjoyed ourselves marvelously and had a fantastic time.

My husband and I visit London every year for a weekend away and normally stay at the Langham hotel (which is amazing) but, this time we decided to have a splurge and book the Mandarin. We have previously stayed at the Mandarin in Bangkok and it was beautiful so we had the same expectations for this hotel in London.
The location of the hotel is great, straight opposite the road is Harvey Nicolas and it is very close the Harrods so it is a great location for shopping. The down side for us was the inside of the hotel, The first room they tried to put us in was on the 9th floor, the room was extremely small and tatty with a view of a wall! We had to complain and was offered another room but, the other room wasn't ready until after 4pm. When we finally got into our second room it was better- nice view of Hyde park and more space. The interior however was still the same, very shabby and the bathroom the same.
All in all we were disappointed with this hotel considering the price. This hotel definitely needs a refurbishment to match the elegance of the other Mandarin Orientals.
Next year we will definitely be returning back to the Langham.

Room Tip: If you do stay here make sure your not put on the 9th floor.

Dear Rebecca H, firts let me just say what a great pleasure it was to have you stay with us at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London recently and thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. Your valuable feedback is much appreciated and we were thrilled to read that you enjoyed our fantastic location so much. With that said, however, we were most disappointed to learn that you were not entirely satisfied with every aspect of your experience, primarily as a result of our room product. Service excellence is the pillar on which we build upon, and our aim is to consistently provide this to all our guests, so I am therefore disappointed the product let us down this time. Your feedback on the accommodation has been well noted and been shared with the relevant departments. The hotel continues to invest behind its’ product including new food and beverage offerings, pool and wellbeing facilities and is in the process of finalising a rooms renovation plan for the near future. On behalf of everyone here at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, we would love the opportunity to have you stay with us again to demonstrate that this was an isolated incident and highlight that not all of our accommodation is of the standard you experienced. If you would allow us to, I would like to personally take care of your next reservation and ensure you are well look after and thereby restore your faith in Mandarin Oriental.

With best regards

Spending a few days in London we chose the Mandarin because of its great location and reputation for customer service and from start to finish of our stay we were absolutely delighted. From the moment of arrival greeted by courteous doormen with our luggage being whisked away the whole experience was customer service at its very best with ever member of staff we encountered doing their utmost to meet our every need.

The hotel is traditional in feel with spacious comfortable rooms furnished in a classic style, whilst other areas have a more contemporary feel and the newly opened fitness centre with pool is absolutely stunning.

One of the highlights of our time there was taking afternoon tea at the hotel - a memorable experience with delicious cakes and pastries served in gracious surroundings.

The only regret we had was having to leave at the end of our stay - the Mandarin must surely be one of the top hotels in London.

My husband recently treated me to an overnight stay here. Our room was generously sized and beautifully furnished. The marble bathroom was spacious and luxurious. The location was second to none - just opposite Harvey Nichols and perfect for shopping. A real treat!

We stayed at the Mandarin in summer 2013. I've stayed at several hotels in London, and this was by far the most impressive of them all. (I've always wanted to stay at the Dorchester, but this was the next best thing)
You can't beat the location - you're next to Hyde Park, across from Harrod's and shopping, and within walking distance from Sloane Square and other hot spots.

My boyfriend was going to surprise me by having a bottle of champagne waiting in the room for us upon our arrival - it wasn't there, so he called downstairs. Not only did they immediately bring up a bottle, but they provided us a bottle 'on-the-house' each additional day we were there.

Our room was upgraded, so we were in a suite overlooking the city. The service was impeccable. We love to partake in room service, and the breakfast was outstanding.

Upon check-out, the bellhops asked us if we were taking a car to LHR or the tube. We told them the tube, and they CARRIED our luggage (4 suitcases) down to the tube for us without asking.

We've already decided that the next time we're in London, we'll be staying here.

From June 20 to June 22, 2014, my wife and I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental London for the second time. And again, we were not disappointed. Having been dozens of times in London, both for business and leisure, I have never enjoyed my stays as much as at the Mandarin Oriental. Perfect service, genuinely friendly staff, beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast on the terrace and sumptuous afternoon high tea in the newly refurbished Rosebery's. As we did not have the opportunity to discover the new Spa and Swimming pool, we will definitely come again soon!
As there can be room for improvement everywhere: in the Courtyard rooms, there should be the possibility to fully separate the shower from the rest of the bathroom. It would avoid water being spread on the floor.

I treated my husband to a night at the Mandarin Oriental hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary recently. We were married very young, so received many congratulations and exhortations on how COULD we be married for so long! Very flattering, and undoubtably the staff did their best to ensure we had a great night.
The greeting from the doorman, to the receptionist was charming, and they continued to call us by name on each chance meeting. The room (a basic double) was small but charming. Perfectly ok for one night. The hotel style is 'English country house'. We had a package that included a massage each in the spa, which was lovely but pricey. The staff gave us each a little bag of goodies on hearing about our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful dinner at Heston' 'Dinner' where the food was superb. The total cost for room, massage and dinner was approx £1600 pounds, and we DONT drink alcohol! Pew were gifted a bottle of champagne, but swapped it for a tonic water each, and were more than happy with this. When we were at dinner the staff decorated our bed with rose petals, a delightful touch. If you want to celebrate in London I WOULD recommend this hotel. A big thank you to the wonderful staff. See you in another 30 years!

Room Tip: Front of the building is on Knightsbridge itself, so noisy in morning. Did not bother us thi
