A most beautiful square - Home to Canada house ( I must be a bit partial!) with the added beauty of a blue chicken. Way to go London..it added some pizzaz to a very traditional scene. The children not only enjoyed the chicken, but having their photo taken up with the lions.

THE best place in London to sit down and people-watch. Good place to take a break between shopping, theatres/galleries etc and of course the obligatory photos on the lions. Unfortunately, the fountains were not in action when I was there, due to cleaning. Facilities good: cafe & loos. Grab a sandwich & a coffee, sit down and just watch ...

The statue of Lord Nelson is the highlight here. The square has people sitting around and a bagpiper was there when we were walking the area. The traffic is very busy here so be careful and watch the signs for crossing the roads. The blue chicken looks out of place but then, it is something to comment on.

A good place to people watch.

A good place to visit with the monuments and statues. There are plenty of places to sit, along the fountains and steps so after walking about London,it is great to sit and rest here and watch the world go by. There are shops, restaurants and takeaways across the road and toilet facilities in the square itself. The National Gallery is also in the square which has free entry. The Big Blue Bird Statue on the 4th Plinth does not fit in with the rest of the monuments but it certainly stands out!!

Trafalgar Square is right in the middle of London. It's a huge Square with a statue of Lord Nelson at its centre. It is a public place and a major tourist attraction in London.

When I was there, there were flocks of pigeons and people feed them and to me I was fascinated how close you can get to the pigeons.

Everyone here seemed so relaxed as I was too. In the4 Square there is peace and harmony and just outside it is bustling with activity, traffic jams, people rushing about ... two completely opposite atmospheres. That's how I saw it as.

This is a MUST-go on your itinerary when you are in London.
