Owner description: The London Dungeon, one of the UK’s most iconic attractions, has reinvented itself now as a bigger, bolder and better attraction in the vast underground vaults of County Hall on the South Bank, next to the EDF Energy London Eye. The all new multi-million pound attraction will bring 1000 years of authentic London history to life with a unique mix of talented live actors performing in scarily funny shows, stunning special effects, edge of your seat surprises and two exciting thrill rides. Guests will embark on a journey through a dramatic London landscape going back ten centuries. They will be guided through ghastly plague-ridden streets, witness Guy Fawkes’ dramatic plot to blow up Parliament, travel back to Jack the Ripper’s bleak Whitechapel and walk beneath London’s foreboding medieval gates. There are new shows and rides which are more dramatic and surprising than ever, new funnier scripts, more theatrical costumes and styling and more talented actors to play even more colourful villains and blaggards.

“a good laugh”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

we enjoyed the Dungeon very much and found it a good laugh,we had to wait quite a while to get entry as ticket holders are allowed entry before the people waiting to buy tickets,so buy tickets the previous day.

“Fun couple of hours”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

Had prebooked tickets so were allowed to jump the very long queue. Enjoyed the little snippets of history. Wouldn't recommend this attraction for people who aren't fluent in English nor for families with very young children. Be prepared to get wet if you go on the boat ride at the start.

“An experience”
Reviewed 2 July 2013 via mobile

Visited London Dungeon with my husband on a school day.
No queue at all
Used our merlin passes for entry
It is very dark once inside
Short wait until there was enough people to form a group.
Actors and actresses all dressed up. They all seemed to try quite hard.
Typically I got picked out in the torture room, which was a little bit a a worry but actually turned out fine.
Was good fun for adults and older children.
I personally wouldn't take my children is as they would be scared but there were some children in our group who seemed fine.
The whole tour probably took about an hour.

“Price up quality down”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

Visited the dungeon yesterday and after suffering the long queue began the tour. I'm English but was embarrassed by the complete lack of translation for the foreign visitors. We got our tickets through club vouchers and had we had to pay the full entry price we would have been sorely disappointed. Compared to the original dungeon this new one isn't nearly as good or informative.

“Enjoyable But Pricey”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

My husband and I enjoyed a visit to the Dungeons on our trip to London. I would recommend pre booking online as the queues are crazy even on a monday not in school holidays! After being herded outside, you are herded inside and after an hour or so you are herded around the Dungeons. I do think the groups you go in are a little large. As we went without children, we felt compelled to stand at the back each time and missed a little of the action because of how many people there were. Each area is very well done and the actors deserve medals to do what they do, pretty good on the historical detail also. There are enough scares to make it enjoyable but if you do have an overly sensitive child then don't bother as there are a few points which are even for an adult a little white knuckle.
Overall a good couple of hours and well run but for the money and herding, I wouldn't go again.
