We walked here from Paddington Station with two small kids. Really easy and relaxing walk, no crowds in late September and took less than 10 minutes. Exit the station at platform 12 and you’re in a pedestrian street. If you need the bathrooms make sure you use the ones at the station before you leave... we didn’t find any others along the way.
We came here on a Paddington Bear ‘hunt’ because the canal featured in the movie. The kids recognised it and thought it was great. But they were less impressed with the one hour boat ride along the canal to Camden. The scenery didn’t vary greatly along the way and we all found it all a bit dull.
It was nice to see Little Venice but because we only had a few days in London we felt we could have spent the time doing something else. Or at least skip the boat trip along the canal and continue on elsewhere from Paddington Station.
Wonderful neighborhood for leisurely strolls among the trees and eclectic and alternative house boats docked along the canal. There are tours offered by boat and somewhere you can rent an electric motor boat to tour on your own. Several restaurants on and off the canal provide lunch and dinner.
I had been looking for something off the beaten track and when I googled things off the beaten track, the first suggestion was always Little Venice.
The internet made it seem so amazing and the pictures were fantastic but when I got there I was let down as it was not as great as I expected. Rather a let down.
Also, the walk down the canal was a bit of a struggle with a stroller as there is a cobbled section.
Been to London heaps and never really seen this part. Walked along a bit of the canal but this was lovely. Really forget you’re in a big capital city here yet it’s so close to everything- especially Paddington. Easy walk from the station. There are a good number of bars and restaurants both on shore a also some floating ones to chose from. Was quite quiet mid week during the pay but can imagine it gets quite busy on a sunny weekend day.
Well worth a trip to take a breather from the hectic Capital.
In the middle of the crowded city you can find this beautiful place. 7 min walk from paddington station. nice restaurants and coffee shops. Very peacefull location.
