Just arrived home from The President. Ignore the really bad reviews. It really wasnt that bad at all. The hotel itself was beautiful. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. There was no safe but that was fine. The staff were extremely pleasant. Bar was lovely and its literally around the corner from Russel Square Tube Station, which is busy but convienent. Lovely shop and fab bar/restaurant called 'The Friend At Hand' around the corner. The beds could have been abit softer but mine was a camp bed so they arent comfy anyway. The sheets and towels were changed everyday, and the rooms cleaned. WiFi is literally only in the lobby and in the Atrium bar. Walls are paper thin but the only thing you can hear is TV and its not even that loud. Traffic is loud but it drowned out by the sliding window infront of the windows. Ambulances and Motor bikes are about the only thing that you hear. I must advise not to go anywhere near the Restaurant 'Denises' down the street. Not pleasant at all in my opinion. Overall a really lovely hotel and you couldnt get more convienent. You pay for the 3 star. Hello its not the Ritz obviously. But yes I would stay again so thank you for a wonderful stay, all the staff at the President.

Room Tip: I do strongly advise to ask for rooms at the front of the hotel, overlooking the Celtic Hotel and the Tempus restaurant to avoid loud traffic, most certainly if you are a very light sleeper and if you are travelling with children or babies. Also ask for extra pillows in reception. Only 1 to a bed otherwise.

Stayed for two nights. First impressions of the Hotel are that its a bit dated but the staff are very helpful, rooms also dated but comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style, can be a bit busy but usual reasonable standard. You can leave luggage with the porters after check out for 50p per piece if you have a late train or flight on departure. The location is excellent with Russell Square tube station a two minute walk. It is also one stop from Kings Cross if your travelling to London by rail. This a typical three star London Hotel and probably one of the better ones. Worth considering.

Room Tip: There are four lifts serving all floors.

My husband and I stayed at the President Hotel, London for two nights in July and we were pleasantly surprised by everything about the hotel as I had previously to our trip gone on trip advisor and found most reviews negative. I found the staff mostly pleasant the room was clean with all amenities you would expect.
Whilst in London we went on the Eye which was ok but expensive £20 per person or you could pay £30 to miss the queue which was not worth it as the queue went down extremely quickly.

This is one of a chain of Imperial Hotels in the Russel Square area of London. The standard of the rooms is relatively basic but they are of a decent size (particularly for London), clean with ensuite facilities including the usual Imperial Hotels great showers. The location is excellent - within walking distance of the West End, British Museum, British Library and Kings Cross and Euston stations. Breakfast is ok but not great - there is plenty but the quality of the ingredients is not the best.

The public facilities are decent. The recent addition of the Atrium lounge makes a big difference - it is a good meeting point even of not staying in the hotel. No internet in the rooms but you do get it in the lobby for free.

All in all a good base but do not expect the lap of luxury. It is also worth noting that the price is the price - £83 for a single room irrespective of the demand in the city at the time.

Just been to London on a short break found this hotel to more than adequate. The rooms aren't very large but there's everything you and they're no too cramped. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. It's also in a great location and all the sights are easily accessible with the nearest tube station only 200yrds away. I recommend that you get an "Oyster Card" to use the transport system
