The reception staff were helpful and nice, but the hotel is a poor 3 Star, rooms tatty and bleak. Went and had breakfast in a near by cafe, breakfast in hotel was brutal. A pack em in and get them out hotel, only thing going for it is location. Was quoted 64 quid for a taxi to Heathrow at reception, rang a firm direct and got it for 42 quid. Avoid.

We picked this hotel for it's location and because the breakfast was included. LOVED the location as we are museum buffs and we could spend as much time as we wanted at the British Museum as it was just around the corner. Nice leafy neighbourhood with parks and restaurants close by. Within a few minutes were tube stations so you could get anywhere in London. The rooms were fine (not expecting 5 star) but the staff were very professional and friendly (5 stars here). Breakfast was quite English and yummy! Thai place down the street is excellent. We would definitely go back to this hotel again when staying in London.

Everything was bad except the location. The breakfast was very poor quality. Also the hotel does not provide wi-fi in the rooms. The beds were very uncomfortable. Generally i am very dissapointed from this hotel.

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed in President Hotel for a week (7th-14th July) and what we found: a very clean hotel with an excellent location! We had two rooms on 3rd floor (337 and 338); some traffic noises from the street ( but it's not the hotel's fault!), so bring those ear plugs. Rooms were cleaned every day. The bathroom was clean and the thing I always check, the shower curtain, was spotless! We had continental breakfast and in my opinion it was ok: two sorts of cerials, muesli, toast, rolls, several sorts of marmalade, apple and orange juice, grapefruit and orange wedges. We tried the English breakfast one morning (£5 extra/person) but in my opinion it's not worth paying... If something I missed at breakfast was yougurt and more fresh fruit.
What else... Location, location, location! The hotel is within a walking distance from Oxford Street (among other places), Russel Square tube station is within a 2 minutes walk. At Russel Sq. station there are lifts, not escalators, so it's always crowded, so I recommend to use Holborn tube station, a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There's a good shopping mall next to Russel St. station, The Brunswick.
The staff at the hotel was very polite, no complaints there. We checked out at 11am on our departure day and we could leave our luggage at the hotel till we left, the cost 50p/piece.
All in all, I can truly recommend this hotel. It's not a 5-star hotel but neither is the cost :) Good value for your money with an excellent location!

it was ok...work trip...no frills...decent breakfast which is a bonus but standard not great rooms...would not stay here if I was on a city break as it has zero charm. sounds harsh but that's the way it is. large, vast hotel. probably reasonably priced which is why it maybe appeals to people. good location

Stayed at the President 12th/15th July 14, ALL staff from reception, breakfast and room services were helpful, polite. We booked online direct with Imperial hotels and asked for a high floor overlooking the gardens which we were kindly given, the room was perfect in all ways no complaints at all. The breakfast was really good and there was plenty of it, the dining room and lounge bar were very nice, we would certainly stay again on our next visit. For what we paid for the twin room with breakfast, first night 3 course dinner included in London in a nice area for us was very good value.

Room Tip: Book directly with the Imperial group ( cost less ) ask for a high floor overlooking the gardens, we...

We stayed at this hotel on 12th july for the fourth time. It was clean and the staff were fantastic.
The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment but there was no inconvienience. The dining room has already been done and looks fabulous.
The food as always was very good and very reasonably priced. The chef is the same one that served us 4 yrs ago and is very pleasant and polite. He always speaks and wishes you a good stay. It is so comfortable it is like going home.I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
