Russell Square was nice. Alot of people and alot of shops and stores. We ate in the pubs in the evening. There all around the area but London is really spread out and you have to take the but or underground to go anyplace.

This small park sits between the British Library and British Museum but really seems to be a place that lacks tourists. Many people walk their dogs, do yoga, and read in this park which leads me to believe that they are locals. Beautiful place to sit and people watch or feed birds. I wasn't wild about the cafe. The pastries seemed to be from the previous day. Overall a cute place but don't go out of your way to get here. Try a picnic in Russell Square after a museum.

I was in Lindon working at the nearby Senate House Library and found this to be a wonderful little place to eat a takeout lunch or meet a friend for a cup of coffee or tea. Beautiful gardens.

Starbucks, Giraffe and other cafes line one side of the Square. Supermarket and chemist are catered for and there is also a line of shops to choose from as well!. Occassionaly there is a table tennis table in the middle of the walkway that people are free to use. Close to a nice little park on the eastern side too!

Keep in mind that the Renoir cinema is closed until December. More details here: http://www.curzoncinemas.com/news/all/renoir_cinema_curzon_bloomsbury.aspx

Russell Square is a lovely and quiet square surrounded by lots of greenery. There are many trees, flora and plants, nice grasses, beautiful water fountain in the park square and people can be seen jogging or strolling with some even with their pets.

The square is just directly opposite to my hotel (President Hotel, you may like to read my review here about the hotel as well), with less than 2 mins of walk crossing a traffic junction. If you are taking the tube here, just alight from Russell Square station and you can reach the park in 3 mins. Its location is so central and accessible (with several public buses and even the city sightseeing buses have stops here too, with the nearest one outside Royal National Hotel which is just about 5 mins of walk).

Once inside the park, you can instantly feel the serenity and calmness from the "busy" world outside the park. Walking leisurely here seemed to slow down the life pace and teach us to appreciate the beauty of the nature and do not take things for granted.

We came here for a walk in the morning and evening but evening seemed to be colder as the cooling winds blowing (even in summer). The morning stroll is better, less crowded, fresher air and its just another lovely day ahead to start off from here.

We enjoyed this place, very soothing and peaceful and good for relaxation!
