Don't expect The Ritz: rooms are small but very clean and the staff welcoming and helpful. Reception/bar is very cramped but we spent very little time there so it did not matter. My main concern was the poor breakfast: this was included in the room rate and I would not recommend it - very limited and with no bacon, just overcooked sausages with the scrambled egg. I would have preferred either of the following options:
1. opt out of breakfast and have a reduced room rate
2. pay extra for a decent breakfast.

Tips:
1. ask for a room at the back of the hotel. I was given one on the main road and it was very noisy.
2. don't let reception call you a cab: we did and the mini cab charged 100% more that a black cab did for the return journey!!! Go to the street and hail one down.

Although a Gold Priority Club member, apart from a standard welcoming letter and a bottle of water in the room, no additional benefits were offered/available.

Dear Skippy50,

Thank you for your review on our hotel and for your loyalty as a Priority Club Gold member. I am delighted to read that you’ve found Holiday Inn Express London Victoria very clean and staff welcoming and helpful.

Please accept our sincere apologies if the breakfast was not up to your expectations. Although we do not serve full English breakfast hence do not have bacon on the menu, we do have sausages, instead, which is standard menu in Holiday Inn Express brand. We very much appreciate your comments and suggestions, which are of great value to us as they help us understand our guests concerns and allow us to improve our services.

I was disappointed to read that you did not feel any additional benefits were offered to you as a Gold member. Though we are a limited service hotel, we strive to recognize and reward our Priority Club members for their continuous support; especially Gold and Platinum card holders. This is why all Gold and Platinum members are greeted with a welcome letter and a complimentary water bottle upon arrival, a free newspaper and offered two hours free internet access daily plus a 20% discount in the bar only for Gold and Platinum members. I am not sure if you had the opportunity to use this service during your stay.

We do advise that mini cab will be expensive for short journeys and recommend using black cab which passes outside the hotel frequently for short distances. If this was not made clear to you please accept my apology.

Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to leave your thoughts on Tripadvisor..

Kind regards,

stayed over the New Year period, Nerea on the front desk was so very nice, polite and more than helpful, showed what the extra mile for guests actually means. She should be recognised as she was the most welcoming of all staff on duty.

A nice and clean hotel in a quiet neighbourhood near underground stations Pimlico and Victoria.
Quite affordable and there were nice and helpful people in reception. A nice surprise were the hot breakfast buffet.
All in all a very pleasant stay.

This hotel is located near Victoria Station and is a clean, pleasant and convenient facility. The rates are OK and vary from 'typical London' pricing to some pretty decent fares if booked in advance and during the right times of year. There is a complimentary breakfast for most fares and wireless internet is available in the rooms for a charge,

Stayed here at the weekend and after reading a lot of negative reviews, was pleasantly surprised. Had asked for a quiet room and we were given a top floor room. Yes we did hear the occasional car or bus drive past as we were at the front of the hotel, but we were by no means disturbed by this. The street at the weekend was very quiet. The room was clean and cosy and we had a great view of Big Ben and the London Eye. The hotel is very convenient to the Pimlico tube station and was a pleasant walk away. Having stayed in holiday inn express hotels before, breakfast was as I expected, a bit limited in choice, but I had plenty to eat and all the food was fresh. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and it is really convenient for a shopping/theatre break.

Room Tip: Rooms at back of hotel are quieter, but view is not as nice

Stayed here last week and was dissapointed. The breakfast was awful. We went at 10am and they had run out of most things. No sausages or bacon just a bit of cold scrambled egg. Breakfast was meant to be till half 10. Worst ive ever had in a hotel. We complained and they took £10 off our bill and said a delivery hadnt turned up. Also they reserved my money for the room and then took it again. Im still trying to get the reserved money back but the hotel told me in can take 5-7 days. Not happy

Dear Vickyemma19,
Thank you for taking the time to post your candid feedback on Tripadvisor. We truly value each comment as they help us gain a better understanding of our customers’ experience and concerns. On behalf of the team, please accept my apologies for the issues you experienced during your stay.

I was most concerned to read about this shortfall in our services. Although there were not enough sausages when you went for breakfast, we had plenty of other choices for breakfast and I am glad you did have them. This was a rare incident and something we were not prepared for but I am glad to take the note that adequate discount was offered from your bill at check out for this shortfall.

Your issue with the bank should have been resolved by now should there be a problem, please contact me and I will personally ensure that the matter is resolve to your satisfaction.

Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back and have the opportunity to offer you a great Holiday Inn experience in the near future,

Best Regards,

About 5 minutes walk from Pimlico tube station. Hotel was clean and pleasnt with clean room facilities. Unfortunately glazing and windows at hotel front on Belgrave Road are useless even on third floor so traffic noise was there all night long.
Breakfast was surprising as there were cooked options in the mini buffet and there was plenty of other offerings so enough choice. I did not try the cooked options so I cannot comment on quality.
As the room was booked and paid for me by my client I have no idea how much it was but looking at other reviews I would definately conclude that it is overpriced for what was provided. I have previously stayed at none chain hotels across and up Belgrave Road and found more cost effective and quieter rooms.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from the front of the hotel due to traffic noise

Dear Trevor F,

Thank you for your feedback. I was very pleased to read some of your comments with regard to the cleanliness and the breakfast. We work hard to make sure all our guests stay are comfortable and enjoyable and we love to read the comments, when our hard work is appreciated. We have the rooms that face front as well as back. You may find our rooms at the back quieter. In future may I suggest putting a request when making the booking so that we can allocate a room at the back of the building.

We would be delighted to welcome you back again in the future.
