I stayed here for 3 nights recently on a business trip. You really can't fault the location, it's only a 3 or 4 minute walk from Old Street tube station, which was perfect for me.

When I arrived at the hotel, I did have to ask to change rooms as I was initially allocated a room which had an interconnecting door. Seeing as I was travelling alone, I wasn't comfortable with this but the very helpful receptionist changed my room for me; no questions asked, which was brilliant.

The new room was really clean and spacious, and the bathroom was lovely, very
modern. The bed was comfy and I had 3 great nights sleep! I didnt eat in the hotel, purely my choice, so I can't comment on the food.

Overall, this was a really good hotel, in a great location, and I would definitely recommend it. In fact, I've already booked again for another business trip next week!

Travelling by London Midland first class rail from Northampton where a new station is in construction on the site of Northampton's ancient castle on Thursday afternoon, 23rd. January, brought me punctually and comfrtably to Euston station which was the starting point
of my Triangle, Euston - Old Street - Moorgate, with each point of the Triangle part of my
visitor's package for two days. A black cab from the rather smelly underground taxi rank
took me on a straight run to 275 Old Street, Holiday Inn Express. Fare: £11.30p. A very swift
check-in, room 538, and then off on the next part of my Triangle, namely, Armourers & Brasiers' Hall, 81 Coleman Str., opposite The Globe pub, Moorgate. The Hall is the H. Q. of one of the oldest guilds in London, Founded over 550 years ago. The Hall survived heavy
bombing during WWII, where neighbouring buildings all succumbed to The Blitz. A photo
records the scene. MY visit was to attend an annual dinner in their excellent dining hall.
The reason for my Triangle is that a visitor can walk from 275 Old Street to Morrgate at
a leisurely pace within twenty five minutes without a taxi, or bus. Importantly on the route
to Moorgate the visitor passes the John Wesley founding church, which is well worth a visit
as it brings complete silence from the busy Old Street traffic. It is a place for peace and
quiet thought during one's busy life style.
I did the reverse of The Triangle by taxi from Moorgate - Old Street in the late evening then
on check-out a taxi to Esuton to complete the last leg of that Old Triangle I have used for
over a decade, or so. Each visit reveals changes to London City, but one thing never
changes and that is the heavy traffic, but it is still nice to chat with the Black Cab drivers, who
have a wide knowledge of London City and its immediate environs.
I can thorughly recommend the Holiday Inn express for anybody who wants things to be
handled professionally with speed. Breakfast was good value for money and was included in
my price of £149. per night. A late night beverage cost £7. for a brandy night cap. Staff are
pleasant, smile, and know their job. A good breakfast is always a good start to a day when
travelling on the Old Triangle, with Time of the Essence. My return journey to Nortthampton
was punctual and comfrtable during bad weather. No delays. Ticket price £63. first-class.
I look forward tom using the new railway and bus stations at Northampton. A good hub
for doing business and for ongoing travel to the Midlands, or East Anglia.

Room Tip: always check for trouser press, or coffee/tea making facility. and make sure you check your fire exit in case of emergency from a room on the higher floors. If not request a room at lower floor levels. If a Club member request newspaper, wake-up call, and after mid-day check-out if required from a late arrival.

Stayed for a night, the room is well presented for a short trip. Very good shower/bathroom. Clean, tidy.

Bed could be a bit bigger, and the mattress a bit less "roll together", but these are minor quibbles for excellent location and good vfm

Room Tip: get a room on the fifth fllor, facing towards Hoxton Sq, away from the main Rd (Old St)

We booked a three night stay here for under £90 per night B&B. We requested, and were given, a quiet room on a high floor - facing the main road but almost no noise at all. Good sized room with comfortable bed (choice of pillows), sofa, desk and flat screen TV (24 free channels). Only criticism was lack of drawer storage space - be prepared to live from your suitcase.

En-suite was modern, fully-tiled and spotless. Fair sized shower (easy to operate) but otherwise quite cramped. Light for shaving could have been better and the 'hot' water was sometimes only lukewarm but no major problems.

HIE win hands down over their main competitors by including a buffet breakfast in the room rate. Don't expect a huge choice but you should find sufficient options from the range of juice, cereals, fruit, yogurt, bread, rolls, and a limited cooked selection. It's all self-service and you can go back for more as often as you want.

Whatever your reason for visiting London the location is ideal. Less than 10 minutes walk to Old Street tube station and numerous bus routes close by, including two to Oxford Circus and Waterloo right across the road.

Add to all this the bright friendly staff at reception and in the breakfast room plus two reasonably sized lifts that never missed a beat and you've got a London base that we'd have no hesitation in recommending. What's not to like?

Room Tip: Rooms on a high floor or at the back will be quieter

Again, A holiday Inn Express offers excellent value in the heart of a city. Good size rooms, clean, warm (or cool if required), comfortable, lovely service and a great breakfast. 5 mins from the tube station and 15 mins walk to Brick Lane.
As club members we got a top floor room at the back of the hotel which was quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Main road at front v busy.
