Owner description: In contrast to other large multiplex-cinemas in Leicester Square, this is a little gem of a theater tucked away around the corner of the busy square, which shows cult classics and modern movies at reasonable prices.

I recently bought an annual membership to the Prince Charles (£10.00- bargain!) and have seen three films there so far with about £3/£4 saved on tickets each time. It is a brilliant fringe cinema, constantly updated with the latest indie/ foreign movies- I saw Richard Ayoade's 'The Double' here (excellent film), I also attended the 'Breakfast Club' event (entitled to a free beer with every ticket- yay!) and most recently the Pulp Fiction 20th Anniversary event with a pre show dress up competition, Jack Rabbit Slims dance contest and a 13 minute long 35mm trailer (which included some very cringe and very funny old trailers for films- felt very authentic! :P). All of these events were excellently planned and put together, well worth the money, around £10- £15 for big events, can go as low as £1(memberships) for older films such as Kill Bill. They also do sing-a-long events, haven't been yet but heard great things! One of the best things about this place: the food and drink doesn't cost more than the ticket- yayyy! Around £4 for a large popcorn which nowadays is a bloody bargain at the cinema and the seats in both screens are very comfortable! One downside I would say would be that every time I've visited the staff look either bored or aren't very friendly- thankfully you only see them briefly but have always felt they are a little hostile to customers- but I'm being picky!

Very dirty seats and sticky floors. Seats are close to one another.. So definitely not recommended for the claustrophobic type. Better seats are far front or last row in the back. Staff seem very nice and helpful though, but until they change the seating and clean up that joint, I will definitely not be coming back anytime soon. More like never!

Do you know what movie that you love but you did not get the chance to see in the cinema? in the Prince Charles Cinema you can enjoy your favourite director, from conceptual ones to more mainstream styles, in the way every movie should be seen - in a cinema!

My friends and I recently went to a Grease sing-a-long experience and we absolutely loved it!

The seats are a little unusual, but comfortable. I was worried that I would not be able to see the screen as the backs of the seats were quite tall, but as the screen is high up, it was fine. The people staff within the cinema were helpful and friendly, the security staff were stone faced and a little moody. Most of the audience were in fancy dress, the most popular being the 'pink ladies'. We were all given goodie bags which included items (i.e. balloons/race flags) to be used by the audience during certain parts of the film. Before the film started, there were best dressed audience competitions hosted by a man in drag. The film also included subtitles for those that did not know all of the lyrics.

I would highly recommend these showings for anyone who loves their musicals, or in general just loves to sing!

We visited the cinema last night with a group of 10 people to watch Monster Squad and while in the bar the staff were really not friendly or attentive.
This spoiled the beginning of our visit also the theater was freezing.
The film was good!
