A day out in London wouldn't be complete without a pre theatre meal and a West End show. We went to see Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre in Soho. This show was magnificent. I was privileged to see o e if the very first productions over 22 years ago. This was equally as good if not better. We started our evening with a simple meal at Pizza Express - also excellent. When we left the theatre however it was fantastic to be part of th he throbbing mass of people in a truly vibrant atmosphere. Not to be missed!

Whether by day ( lots of restaurants and shops ) , or a night (we saw Mama Mia), this is a area of London with the energy of entertainment, the street noise of those looking for a show and the restaurants that cater to those who have just enough time to eat before a show, or sit back and enjoy a drink afterwards. We have stayed at The Strand Palace which is a good alternative for anyone who is up for the weekend and going to a show. My recommendation is to stay in the area if your seeing a play or hire a ride to pick you up, (if your an out of towner like me) so that you can enjoy staying in the Theater District after dark. If you come during the day, take the time to enjoy a coffee and walk the streets in this area.

This is a must see area when in London. If you get the chance you must go to at least one of the many shows that are on. Pre book your tickets if you are able.

Name it, it's playing here. From The Mouse Trap, Lion King, Wicked, Billy Elliot and War Horse to just about any play you can think of and so many more just hitting the streets.

It's not Broadway...it's BETTER! So many choices, so little money. All close to great dining. And just a tube stop away from just about anywhere in London.

We didn't but friends have told me to buy tickets if possible before getting there to get the best seats.

Can't wait to get back and plan a visit just around daytime tours and evening plays.

took a chance, didn't know anything about the show, saw a couple of favorable reviews. The play was wonderful, funny, a modern love story, the music makes you want to dance in your seat ! AND the jamming sessions they start with before the play "starts" is an incredible music experience. You can mingle onstage too - don't want to give too much away here as this is a different musical, one that is young and modern and well go see it at Once !! And the ads for once are true, it is unmissable and you will want to see it again or at least listen to the music again!! I loved it !
