My friend and I stayed at this hotel in July when going to the O2 to see Robbie Williams. I would have to say that this was very good value for money and all the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly in their dealings with us and I noticed with all the other customers as well. It is so nice to see that, when sometimes if you have a surly member of staff it spoils your trip. This did not apply here. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Greenwich and as a Bonus the Cutty Sark was right nearby,

Paid £230 for two nights which is not bad for London, though we have got better deals in the past. The rooms are basic but when it's just for sleeping that's fine. Bed was a bit hard and although we had the air con on all night, it was a bit hot at times. Absolutely no frills - soap dispensers, no biccies on the tea tray and actually only one tea bag!! Having said that, the staff on the front desk were pleasant and efficient and despite there being only one lift, we never had to wait for it once! That's a first! It's very handily placed in Greenwich, midway between Greenwich mainline/DLR and Cutty Sark DLR and it's attached for Cafe Rouge. Internet was great though reception on my phone was a bit intermittent.

Very good hotel , we have stayed there before , however this time our room ( 213) if i remember , smelt of damp , a very strong smell , we went out to diner and left the window open, and the air con on and the smell seam to be a bit less, however it was still there. The bathroom the source of the smell was not mouldy by any means , however there were gaps behind the bath and sink , and the smell was very strong from there . the room juts needed a good upgrade , the plugs also were not attached to the walls .. a bit worrying that .

Room Tip: upgrade room and clean it .

I stayed four nights at the Ibis whilst attending a conference at the University of Greenwich. It's very close to the U (which is in the Old Naval College) and to the Cutty Sark, and only a few minutes' walk from the Observatory. The area near the hotel is a lively mix of small stores, bars and restaurants such as you'd expect to find near a university, sprinkled with more upmarket outlets since this is, I imagine, quite an expensive part of London. Most of all the bank of the river, only five minutes' walk from the hotel, has cycle paths and places to walk and is generally a fine area to relax and enjoy the passing scene.

So far I've said little about the hotel itself, mainly because there's not a lot to say: it's an Ibis and, in my experience, that stands for quality at a reasonable (though hardly low) price. The room was clean, comfortable and well designed (something I find important; unimaginative, rectangular arrangements such as you find in many American chains get boring after a while).

Unlike rooms in American chains, those in England tend not to have microwaves or fridges (but, with so many dining options within a block or two, who needs them?). My only complaint would be that the free wireless internet was very slow at times, though I never actually lost a connection.

I had a continental breakfast which was adequate; it came included with the price of the room. Your mileage may vary; I believe you can opt out of breakfast or, on the other hand, go for the traditional "full English".

I'd lived for two or three years in London some time ago, but never been to Greenwich. On this, my latest visit, then, I enjoyed my stay, and might consider using it as a base next time I come to London. If I did come back to Greenwich, I'd try the Ibis first off and, if their rates weren't too far out of line, be quite happy staying here again.

Room Tip: My room faced the car park at the back and was very quiet. Other rooms face the street but might sti...

Stayed for one night. Needed location for Greenwich and the O2. Hotel was easy to find, car parking was good. Hotel is right next to the Greenwich attractions and Thames Clipper pier for the O2.

Room was basic, but just fine. Bed was comfy and we had a good nights sleep.

Breakfast in the adjacent Café Rouge was really tasty.
