“Great location, good service, disappointing loyalty program”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

For a vacation trip to London, if one is seeking a balance between a quiet neighbourhood close to attractions and reasonable rates by London standards, this polished and professional 4-star hotel delivers the goods. A stone's throw from Archbishop Park and Lambeth Bridge, and a short stroll along the Thames to Westminster bridge, London Eye and the Houses of Parliament, the location of this property is perfect.

Rooms are a bit small but nicely furnished and serviced. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the breakfast buffet abundant and well laid out but seating, plates and cutlery tend to run out quickly when there is a rush.

Sadly, the Accor Le Club Loyalty program detracts from all the good things this place has to offer. Although a Silver member, I was told after my reservation that loyalty points are only awarded if one books on the Accor website. This means that, in spite of a good experience, I am unlikely to stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms towards the back are quieter. Views above the 4th Floor are nicer.

Stayed here for 3 nights in June for a business trip as I couldn't get anything closer to the office, however I was very pleased.

Located about a 10 min walk from Lambeth North tube station, check in was quick (it was 8.30pm though so not busy!)
Ordered room service on my first night which was delicious and arrived quickly. Breakfast also good, standard continental and hot food choices, plus a variety of other options, cereals and breads, fruits etc.

Facilities in the room were of a high standard and I had a great view from my room, I could see Westminster and the London Eye! It was facing on to the main road so a little noisy with ambulances and traffic passing, but not unbearable or worse than you'd expect from a main road.

Would stay here again and would recommend highly.

The hotel has a very modern sleek look to it, which is very appealing. The location is great. You can walk to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, etc. The hop on/hop off bus stop is right around the corner. The Westminster tube stop is the other direction, just a short walk away. This made it very convenient to take the tube to Heathrow.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable. Our sink was stopped up, but maintenance came as soon as they were called and fixed it.

The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The bar needed more than one cider, but that's just me.

A suggestion, for travelers looking for somewhere local to eat and/or drink. We headed to Whitehall then Covert looking for a pub in which we could take our 11 year old son to get something to eat on Friday afternoon. Forget that. I would suggest turning right out of the hotel instead. We saw several pubs in a few blocks when we were leaving, and so wish we had tried them instead.

The only downside was the unbelievable racket made by some kind of trucks before 6 am! The hotel of course has no control over that, but good grief!

Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very close to the south bank and such very close to Westminster palace and major attractions. Rooms are modern, spacious and clean. Bar/ breakfast area is very nice. Personnel could be friendlier and breakfast is too expensive.
All in all highly recommended for a stay in London.

From the beginning of our stay until our departure we had no major complaints. The front staff was great. They were courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. We really felt that they treated each guest with a lot of respect and patience. The servers at breakfast and the bar were great. With all the numerous guests at a very busy time it couldn't have been easy; however they did their best to please everyone. The breakfast was great with many selections. Clearly the hit was the pancake machine. The restaurant food was surprisingly good better than other Novotel hotels.

The rooms were spacious and clean. Typical Novotel. Nothing dramatic or surprising. The only problem was that the shower water dripped too much outside the tub. Even though they did not have slippers in the room, the housekeeping were kind enough to provide them when we asked.

The hotel is close enough to walk to the major sites such as Westminster Abbey, a Big Ben, Parliament, London Eye, and Victoria Bridge. We even walked to the West End and Oxford Circle. The bus stops are close by and the tube stops are about 15 minute walking distance.

We would recommend this hotel highly to our friends and family as well as stay here the next time we are in London.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 night and it was for family trip. What i like about this hotel are: 1) good location, it is not too far from Westminiter underground station and big bang with a walking distance for about 10-13 min, Waterloo Station, London eye and Sea life London acquerium for abt 20 min and the tourist bus stop for abt just 3-4 min; 2) Clean, decent room size and comfortable design and friendly staff; 3) reasonable price for breaksfast, my son ate for free, i paid only for two adults, i believe they don't charge kid for under 12. The pizza here costs only 10 pounds or so and it is delicious.
The small walk along the river side is a must if you live nearby here, take a moment to seat on the bench and enjoy a cup of coffee or cold drink in a not too warm day is a treat. There is a small restaurant just right at the river side called Lambeth Pier, it is cute although i have never tried breakfast there but this spot is also stop for golden line tour bus. So, if you choose their service then you can just stop here and spare yourself from a walk to Westerminiter if you feel like taking a break. Overall, i feel good about this hotel and i would come back if i am traveling to London again.
