“London hotels are expensive”

Most of the other reviews are spot on. Expensive for small but very nice rooms in a central location with excellent staff. No complaints (other than the wi-fi in the rooms being rubbish). We had a room on the front corner on the sixth floor. We could just about hear the traffic but not enough to keep us awake or spoil our stay - not sure the same would apply on lower floors.

Hotel rooms in central London are expensive - the same room in a Mercure hotel in Paris would be 50% cheaper - but that is London for you. If you want a nice, comfortable, clean room in central London at under £200 per night this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floors and at the back if possible.

Booked this hotel for my wife's birthday. I was extremely disappointed with the size of the room and the bathroom was ridiculously small. 6 square feet of moveable space in the bathroom would be generous. I actually called reception to confirm that it was a superior room, which they confirmed it was. Goodwill gesture of a bottle of wine was sent up, but that didn't change the size of the room or the cost. Smaller issues, the wires for the bathroom mirror were visible, pencil marks on the wall next to the mirror from previous work carried out, bedside table could only fit phone on and nothing else and tea making facilities were minimal. The staff were polite, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but the room was definitely not superior. Left feeling disappointed that my wife didn't receive the birthday treat she deserved and that I didn't get value for money. Expensive and no breakfast included.

Spent a night at the Mercure Bloomsbury while attending a conference. Warm welcome and efficient check in. Very comfy room - not a bad size for Central London. Nice breakfast and free newspapers. Overall a pleasant stay.

What's great about these hotels is that you know EXACTLY what to expect - and that expectation is always a VERY high standard. This was my second stay at a Mercure within the last 3 weeks and again I wasn't disappointed. Room a bit small but then I was only staying the one night and on my own, but every other detail, including the fantastic breakfast, was the same as my last stay in another Mercure hotel in SE England. Staff again very upbeat and helpful. Everywhere pristine.

My mum & I stayed for 5 nights in Oct this year.
Our twin room was a few floors up but we were thankful for the lift. The beds were comfortable, the room a little small room but the hotel is in the Inner City. To be honest, as we were there for sight seeing purposes, it had everything we needed.
Loved the Nespresso in the room since decent coffee is a little hard to find. We had room service a couple of times and meals were delicious.
Staff were friendly & helpful. Hotel is very close to Russell Sq / Holborn tube & bus stops are very close by too.
Would definitely recommend Mercure Bloomsbury & would stay again.

We met a very helpful and friendly staff who organized a move to another room, as we were given a very small double room the first night. The price at 200 £ per night we believe is in the higher end compared to the standard and the size of the rooms.
Breakfast was ok, although limited selection. Overall we had a good stay, but did expect more at that price.

A good hotel in prime location. Rooms are always well prepared and with facilities required. I return regularly for business and trust this brand to get it right. The staff in particular are helpful and welcoming. I never have any problems with Mecure.
