“I can think of nowhere better!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

I have stayed at this hotel regularly for some years now and feel compelled to write another review to sing its praises. My employer decided on a cost cutting exercise last year and as a result I was forced to "shop around" for cheaper alternatives to the London Bridge Hotel. Well I did just that and although yes, I found some cheaper hotels, in reality it was a false economy because of the poor service and inconvenience caused by having to stay a cab or tube journey away from the office. And so I have begun to return to LBH. The location of London Bridge Hotel is perfect - close to the station and Underground and there is plenty to do within walking distance if you have spare time.

A particular feature is the friendly attitude of the staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The receptionists always greet me with a friendly "welcome back" and the General Manager Mr Cowell often expresses his gratitude to regulars with a small token. Touches like that engender true loyalty and so unless my employer absolutely bans me from using this place, I will continue to return. Rather get rewards points from the big chains? No - I'd rather just know that I'm going to get a comfortable room and great service, every time, without fail. Oh - and the free Wi-Fi actually works, unlike some other establishments in the area.

Room Tip: I haven't found a bad one yet.

We stay here for a night normally when we are in this part of London, it has a great position near the station, not far from the southbank either way. The rooms are small but very clean and quiet. The breakfast is always good, not too much choice but excellent quality for a buffet breakfast. The staff are very good and helpful.

My partner and myself stayed two nights here recently. Friendly greeting on arrival. Easy check-in and room was well appointed. Beautifully clean with White Company toiletries. We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was nice and quiet, the room was well insulated and there was no noise from adjoining rooms which is always a bonus.
Bit of confusion about the detail of our 02 package but this was sorted out very quickly and efficiently by the helpful Concierge
Breakfast was very good with a really good selection of hot and cold choices which varied each day.
Just a minor point was that when my partner made the booking he did explain it was a birthday celebration. Of course we didn't expect a grand gesture but just a little card in the room to wish a happy birthday would have made the visit a bit more personal and special. It's little touches like this that make the difference.
The position of the hotel is great, right in the shadow of the Shard and close to the wonderful Borough Market. This part of London is so interesting and our River Express trip to the O2 was perfect.
A good place to stay.

We attended a conference that was based at this hotel. The location is nice just across the Thymes on the south side of the river next door to The Shard. One warning- the standard rooms are extremely small. We got lucky and got upgraded to a "suite" that was also pretty small (by US standards) but so much better than the standard rooms. The staff is nice and they have a very good breakfast buffet.

I was recently treated to a night at this hotel by my partner and it is a gorgeous hotel and such an excellent location as it is straight down the road from London Bridge Station . The staff are very friendly and seem like they love working there. The room was quite small which doesn't matter as it was only the two of us but for the price it would have been nice to have a bit more space. Bathroom clean, TV, mini bar all good! The bed was my favorite, it was so comfortable and lovely thick bedding with a nice number of pillows. We didn't go for the breakfast as it is £10 to book and £17.00 to buy on the day! The bar was lovely and we enjoyed some freshly made Pimms before we headed out. All in all such a lovely hotel but maybe more for business then leisure if more than one night

Great location - turn right out of the London Bridge tube station then the 2nd right and the hotel is right there. Even late at night we didn't feel unsafe. And the tube station is right across from Borough Market which is an amazing place for lunch, for snacks, for window shopping and people watching.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and they will make you an omelette to order if you don't want the scrambled or fried eggs at the buffet. We had to leave early our last morning and they actually let us into the buffet 15 minutes before it opened so we could at least have something to eat before we left.

The room itself is a little small, like you'd expect in a city like London, or New York for that matter. But the bed was comfy, the shower had great water pressure and the staff quite helpful.

All in all it was a great choice!

This hotel is right next door to London Bridge Station and Underground and also the Shard. It is therefore quite good value for it's position. The rooms are rather small but have plenty of hanging space. Tea & coffee and wi-fi are included. The bathroom is minute and gets very steamed up when you are having a shower, which is over the bath. There is a shelf over the toilet for toiletries and good towels.Staff could be slightly off hand but generally they were polite and helpful. The breakfast was rather poor for a hotel of this standard. The cooked items were very nice and hot but the fruit was awful - just bits of hard apple and pear etc cut up in big chunks. No individual yoghurts and a meagre plate of cold cuts and small packets of cheese. We were there four mornings and it never varied - could have used some variety. Staff in the restaurant were quick to clear away and always pleasant. Overall I would recommend this hotel because of it's location and would return if in London again
