“Wonderful Hotel Stay”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

My friend and I came to London to stay for her 40th birthday weekend. Everything about our stay from start to finish was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Our room was quite small but perfect for a night's stay. The air conditioning was very welcome as it was so hot outside. The hotel itself was situated right next to the Shard and a 2 min walk to London Bridge station.
The breakfast was absolutely lovely.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as we had a wonderful time.

Staff were very helpful and breakfast offered a reasonable choice. The room was comfortable and quiet particularly given the central location.
Perfect for easy access to transport, restaurants and sights.
Would visit again.

Booked the London Bridge Hotel as it was close to Borough Market and The Globe (foodie and Shakespeare weekend).Brilliant location, lovely hotel. Our room was comfortable, clean and well designed. The breakfast was fabulous in the morning and all for a comparable Holiday Inn rate!
I found it cheaper to book directly with the hotel......

Room Tip: we had a deluxe double, but still not that big...

Stayed here for a Friday night while flitting around splendid London. Staff couldn't do enough - all requests met. Popped to the bar late evening & met such interesting, friendly locals that we were still there for last orders. Breakfast plentiful and delicious. We'll be returning. Convenient and well kept, friendly and good value for money. Highly recommended.

I stayed one night here on business as it was right in the middle of all of the locations I needed to be. Walking distance to good sights and easy access to the tube. The hotel reception was really nice, good decor and pleasant staff. My room was ok, decor was pretty bland, a little disappointing compared to the reception area. It was small too, even for London standards, felt like a plain box and not somewhere you'd necessarily want to spend much time.

It was clean and comfortable just not somewhere I'd pick if I was coming on holiday

We decided to book this hotel due to the fantastic reviews it got on this site, and it didn't disappoint!

The location is amazing, right next to The Shard, Borough Market, Southbank and much more. Very easy location to walk and explore some of the best parts of London from and the Jubilee line comes out pretty much opposite the hotel (follow signs to The Shard from the tube station).

On arrival we were greeted by extremely helpful staff and given our room, despite checking in earlier than the stated 2pm, which was a real bonus. The rooms are compact, but not uncomfortable and have everything you need for a very comfortable stay. If you're there for more than a long weekend, you might want to upgrade to a Superior Room, which has a little more square footage.

We had booked the special weekend rate deal and pre-booked breakfast so all-in-all it was a really good price for this level of hotel with a location right in the heart of London.

We will definitely return to this hotel again and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in London.

A quaint, friendly older hotel located on the banks of the Thames River in Southwark. The rooms are a bit small by US standards but nicely appointed and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful! The Jubilee Walkway that runs along the south bank of The Thames from The London Tower Bridge to the Westminster Bridge runs right past the hotel. The Borough Marketplace is also next to the hotel as is the new "Shard" glass building, one of the tallest structures in all of Europe. There is a large train station nearby.

If there are any negatives about this hotel, it would be that it is an hour by car to Heathrow, and about two miles from the main attractions of the city like Buckingham Palace, Parliament, Trafalgar Square and even further to Picadilly, but the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus is a help there.

Nice place. We would stay there again if our travels take us back to London.

Room Tip: Choose a room one size larger than what you expect.
