“Worst experience in a hotel”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

I ended up in this hotel after another hotel dropped me due to overbooking (Executive Rooms London Kensington) on a very busy night at London. I was charged close to twice as much to the price given in booking.com (charged £150 without breakfast whereas booking.com listed it at £87 including breakfast). I was put in a room in the basement (dirty, dirty, dirty!) and they said that my own private toilet was at the second floor and the shower at the third! None of these where of cource private (no key) and I saw other people using the restroom which was worst than busy puplic restrooms. It was simply horrible! I checked in at 1:30am, did not leave because I had no other place to go and left first thing in the morning. It was worst than third world countries, disgusting. I did not expect luxury but this was a shock that costed me £150!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

The hotel is ok, our room was confortable but there is a thing about the stairs. Our room was on the second floor and we had to carry our bags all the way up with any kind of help, only for vigorous young people,,,,

We stayed for 5 nights last month with my wife and two kids.
We were firstly weary of the reviews here but for that buget and super location what else))))
We were very happy with the staff who were caring and went out of their way to help us first timers. We save a lotta money right from the taxi, routings and planning our outings and visits. The Lebara calling card sim was so useful and economical. Thanks soo much Ashraf....Cheers....Naresh

I am not kidding, this hotel is the worst I have ever been in. Even compared to third world countries it is terrible. Please don't let the photos on the website deceive you. It is nothing like the real thing. The hotel is surrounded by very plush upmarket places and is a stones throw from Kensington Gardens. Great location but where do I start? Remember I am not exaggerating any of this. The surly staff, who struggle with english, at check in didn't bode well. The room, a single, stank, reeked of damp and cigarette smoke. The carpet was stained all over, torn and dirty. The room was incredibly small, the bathroom so small you had to turn sideways to get to the toilet which would only flush after 3 attempts. Exposed fittings looked very dodgy. Half a roll of toilet paper was all that was available until the next day. Only a foot towel was provided and when I requested a towel and showered I found it had dried blood on it that had not come off in a wash. TV was restricted to 3 channels, if you like parliamentary broadcasts no problem. The bed was comfortable, I 'll give them that. Breakfast consisted of toast, cereal, juice, cheese slices and croissants that were either not properly defrosted or just plain stale. Don't expect anything cooked. The breakfast staff spoke no english. Honestly this place is disgusting considering what you pay. I know it's not top end but it's also not the cheapest in London. The location is great but I wouldn't put my dogs in here for a night. I can't stress enough how bad this place is. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

Room Tip: My tip is avoid this place like the plague.

Very small rooms
Hot and smelly, location is just ok but the hotel itself is very poor. We had to leave the hotel and book another one bcz the room was very boiling hot and small. I would recommend anything else but this hotel. Also the toilet seat was not properly fixed and the toilet itself was so awkwardly fitted near the wall that one cant evev sit on it properly. Complain this to the reception but nothing they did.

Friend and I stayed at this hotel in May. Room was small and the bathroomn even smaller. The room was on the second floor; beware there is no lift. The bedding was clean but unfortunatley the toilet had limescale in the pan which I complained about but nothing was done. The reception staff were helpful. There are plenty of buses and two train stations nearby. We wouldnt stay again but it was reasonably priced.

Room Tip: If you are older or disabled don't forget to tell the staff when booking. There is no lift and t...

Whiteleaf hotel is a pleasant, sympathetic accommodation for someone who appreciates excellent location and needs a hotel basically just for sleeping the nights there. Special thanks for the friendly and always-willing-to-help receptionists, especially Asraf who provided great tips gladly and of his own initiative and who always had an extra minute with the guests.

The rooms were nice & warm at the end of April. (No draught, which was appreciated.) The cleaning was good. The breakfast is a typical English one, it's ok as long as one likes toast, cheese, cereals, juice, coffee/tea. Our room was on the third floor (no elevator), so there was some climbing to do which is ok though if you're fit.

The location was excellent - you could hop on certain red buses right by the front door (don't remember which buses unfortunately, but the route is there...) Two minutes walk to the nearest tube station, restaurants, little shops and ATM (for euros or local pounds).

I can easily see myself choosing this hotel again when travelling to London next time.
