“Clean Budget Hotel Good Location”
Reviewed 21 December 2013 via mobile

Exactly as we expected. Small rooms. Modern bathroom. Bed small but comfortable. Staff friendly. We stayed here to go to winter wonderland in Hyde Park and it was just a 10/15 minute walk away. Oxford Street is walkable but we got the bus for £2.40. If you're looking for a romantic break or luxury hotel then maybe this isn't for you, but as a budget base for London (We paid £56) I think it was good. I would stay here again

First of all, this hotel seems to be getting a picky, bad-rap review from a lot of people.
I have stayed here twice with my other half, once in 2009 and once in 2011.
This hotel is budget so don't expect more than that and you won't be dissapointed. If you are just using it as somewhere to sleep and a budget base to explore london, this is ideal. Both times, we never had a problem with cleanliness, in fact we thought the bathrooms in both rooms we had were lovely. No views in the rooms we stayed in, but we were out most of the time so didn't need a view. We even left our bags with them after we checked out for no cost until we needed to pick them up for the train journey home.
Excellent location, just a 5 min (if that) walk to Paddington station and a 15 min walk from Hyde Park. You can walk to Harrods, etc, within 45 mins or jump on a quick tube journey to other attractions. For the money and the location (hotels in this area can be a bit dodgy, we've had previous experience) but we genuinely wouldn't mind returning to this hotel. Breakfast minimal but nice. Maybe not suitable for a "special" stay in London, but worth giving it a chance.

Room Tip: If you have a problem with the room or cleanliness, let the reception know and I'm sure they wil...

Booked for a one night stay as I needed to be close to Paddington station. Pictures looked good on the website- however on arrival I was allocated a very basic single room which had seen better days. It was grubby and small and really not a place you would want to spend anytime. Staff where however friendly.

My five friends and myself stayed here for one night. We found staff at reception were very pleasant and we were given three rooms on the third floor which i requested. the rooms were a good size with a double and single bed (we only booked a twin) as were the other two rooms that we had booked. The only negative was the shower which didn't work properly. I will stay at this hotel again as it has a great location.

Room Tip: Ask to stay on a higher floor

The only positive aspect of this 'hotel' is the location.i stayed here for 2 nights last weekend.we arrived early so could not check in till after 2pm, and advised to leave our bags in the luggage room there was a porter standing at reception who 'pointed' to the direction of the luggage room.we arrived back later that evening and we had to retreive our bags again from the luggage room, we made our way to the room which I can only describe as a box room crammed with four childsize single beds.we needed an iron and had to use our irish mobiles to call down to reception three times!!! as there was no phone in the room, overall the hotel was more like a hostel, services were extremely lacking and the staff spoke very unfriendly broken english...I will not be back and recommend you do not waste your money!!!

I have read all the previous reviews and was a bit hesitant that I had booked this, however, the staff on arrival were very welcoming, the ladies who cleaned the rooms once again very pleasant and helpful. Our room was booked as a double but in fact turned out to have a double and single bed, the room was very clean with tea and coffee making facilities that were topped up daily and plenty of space to store your belongings. The en-suite was more than adequate. The only negative to this room was we were on the side of the hotel where there happened to be a VERY BUSY road junction and as the hotel does NOT have double or secondary glazing it was VERY noisy at night, however, after the first night I purchased some ear plugs and the rest of my stay was quiet, having said this my husband was not disturbed by the never ending traffic noise. We didn't take the breakfast option as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance as is the london underground. I wouldn't hesitate to book again as the price we paid for 3 nights in that location would have been more than double elsewhere. Please dont be put off by some of the negative reviews.

Room Tip: Try to avoid those facing the busy junction
