“good value hotel”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Compared to other hotels in the same price range in London (80-100 GBP), this hotel offers excellent value. I lived in London some years ago and I checked out the hotels around Earls Court when I wanted to book for visiting friends and family. The rooms were incredibly small and uncomfortable, while Ibis has normal size rooms where you can actually move around the bed and the bathroom has a proper shower which is not hanging above the sink. We stayed at Ibis with our 1 year old baby and we had good space even with a baby cot next to the bed. In addition to good space, the rooms have good standard and are very clean. It's possible that some rooms are more recently renovated than other rooms, so it's worth calling the hotel to ask for a newer room if possible. The hotel is not central, but it's 10 minutes walk from Earls Court tube station, from where you can be in Central London in 15 minutes. This will remain our favorite hotel when we will be visiting London again.

Room Tip: higher floor to avoid traffic noise

The Ibis Earls Court is just 2 minutes walk from West Brompton Underground station (don't be fooled into walking to Earls Court station all the time). Travel times from West Brompton to the centre of London are about 20 minutes, slightly more if you decide to use the buses.

The hotel itself, while looking like an inner city tower block from the outside, is actually very pleasant inside. The reception area is large and ornate with plenty of room to sit and watch the world go by. Check in was prompt and easy. At the time of travelling, the hotel did have free wifi and the access code was given to us at reception. We did notice that the staff didn't speak a lot but I'm the kind of person who doesn't always want a lot of interaction when checking into a hotel. When asked for certain information (breakfast etc), the staff were more than helpful and very polite.

Our room was what you would expect from the Ibis brand: Clean and tidy with a nice, modern bathroom. Definitely looked like it had been recently renovated. Considering our room overlooked the main room, there was very little noise and I don't remember hearing anyone going up and down the corridors.

Breakfast was nice and well presented. It was a huge continental buffet with cooked options. Definitely good to get you going for a day around London. Breakfast wasn't included in the price and we paid about £12 extra for it. Considering the wifi was free, that wasn't too bad a deal. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, there are several places along the street to eat as well as a few shops. There's also local delivery services.

We paid £75 for a single night here which wasn't bad considering the location. If you get it at the right time, it's definitely a bargain but maybe only for a night or two, or as a transfer to the airport. It's also good for if you're attending concerts (as we were) or attending Earls Court. If you're staying longer, there are better deals closer to the city centre.

The hotel was ok. The people working there was sarcastic, helpless, and rude; except the asian guy in the breakfast room. Front desk and information desk - rate poor. Quality of the room - ok.
We had to stay here because our Tour started from this hotel the next day. Thanks God on our way back to London after a week, we had booked a different place to stay.
There was a guy in the information desk that gave us the London map as a favor "for free." Not abundant in his explanations about the city.
The breakfast was ok. In the room, the bathroom had only the basics: sanitary paper, towels and shower gel. The room was clean.
Try to go to a different place.

We were In London for a week. Got a package deal with this hotel and breakfast. Amazing. Breakfast was great. Location was very close to the tube. Close to pubs, corner store, and stadium. Multiple buses come by there and not that far from both airports. Our room was great, bed was very comfy. Always clean. Good view. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The bar in the hotel was great as well. Food was very good and reasonable price.

Second time at this hotel. Comfortable rooms, clean and quiet. Located very close to tube station. Excellent service and friendly staff in the pub. Better value in pub, also. Dining room too expensive.

Room Tip: House keeping did good job with bathroom and carpet but room needed dusting. I was there for 7 days...

This is a hotel you should avoid for three reasons. First: the quality of the room was the worst experience I ever had. The bed was way to soft and smelling far from fresh. Second: the baked egg I had with my breakfast contained plastic and Third: at the reception desk I was asked at the checkout whether I wanted to pay in GBP or EUR. As haven't slept for two nights I automatically chose to pay with my credit card in EUR because that is my currency. That cost me 5% more in exchange rate. I wonder why they ask me this question. Facit: I will never go back again because price performance ratio was ridiculous

Room Tip: Choose another hotel
