We've stayed in numerous hotels in the capital but this was our first experience with the Kensington Indigo and what a refreshing change it made. I received an email a few days prior to our visit asking for any special requests and phoned the hotel to ask if we could have a quiet room and we were there to celebrate my wife's birthday (30 +VAT Carly!)

As soon as we arrived we were upgraded and were treated to cake and drinks and the staff couldnt do enough for us. Breakfast choice was exceptional with Eggs Benedict, top quality smoked haddock, Dippy Duck Eggs and much more. We ate in one night and the food and service were exceptional.

This hotel is not the norm, the rooms are not boxes, the decor is not typical, it is fun, quirky and a refreshing change to the majority of poor value standard tourist hotel rooms available in London plus it is perfectly situated for the tube, restaurants and museums etc.

Many thanks to all of the staff who made our visit so memorable, especially Vincent, Danny and Carly, I'm sure we will see you all very soon to let you know about the Chilean Pisco !

Room Tip: Rear rooms on a higher floor would be quieter but this is not a noisy neighbourhood.

After a further visit to the Hotel Indigo, it remains my London hotel of choice. This time we got to stay in one of the front facing fourth floor rooms. It was not quite as spacious as the basement room we have been in when staying previously (which unfortunately was not available this visit but the reception staff did check following a special request). The bedroom itself was ample enough but the bathroom was a little awkward to negotiate with a lack of towel rails/ hooks. There was some street noise when we slept in on Sunday morning so if you want absolute silence a room on the opposite side of the hotel may be better. I love this hotel's vibrant design though and the nice touches, like the complimentary mini-bar. The location and friendly, welcoming staff mean it remains my London hotel of choice and I am once again looking forward to returning when the opportunity arises.

Room Tip: For a quieter room you may want to avoid those at the front side of the hotel - the reception staff...

It is warm, friendly, charming and reasonably prices for the quality. Each room and hotel is individually styled and has something that links it to the neighbourhood. Last night when I checked in I was given trainers so that I could explore the neighbourhood. Now, that was a first for me. Let's say I didn't get the opportunity to do that.

The rooms are spacious and always stocked with goodies. The breakfast is excellent. I had duck eggs this morning.

Having stayed in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea previously, trying to find a good hotel at an affordable prices can be difficult, however, the Indigo Hotel near Earl's Court is a gem. Firstly, it is only 1 minute from the tube and therefore perfectly situated for the museums of South Kensington and nearby shops and restaurants. On arrival, the receptionists could not have been more friendly and accommodating, while the building itself was beautifully modernised [sat opposite a small park], and the décor pristine and vibrant. Hotel rooms will never be that large in this area of London, however, the standard rooms are of a good size. Soft drinks in the room fridge were complementary [including a Mars Bar]. There was a iron, ironing board and hair dyer as standard. We had breakfast one day, which was included the likes of 'eggs Benedict' - good stuff. There were very few negative points: the rooms were awfully hot, the air conditioning units quite loud - on opening the window you can be confronted with the oily smells of the kitchen below; especially if you are on the first floor. The bed is very high, if you are less the 5'2'' tall, but nonetheless comfortable. However, don't let this put you off: good hotel, great location at an affordable price.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better.

We booked the Hotel Indigo for a weekend in London to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday, and we’re delighted to say it was our best hotel experience in London ever...!!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were all friendly and courteous – despite the fact that we are “commoners” and they are all “titled”. We were allocated an upgraded room on the 3rd floor overlooking Barkston Gardens. The room was extremely spacious, very well furnished, imaginatively decorated, and it had so many quirky but well considered touches – the free minibar, free wifi, bathrobes & slippers, flat screen TV at the foot of the bed which could be turned around to face the seating area, a ”night-light” in the bathroom, a speaker from the TV in the bathroom, and so the list goes on.....

In the evening another delightful member of staff offered a turn-down service, along with a Beatrix Potter story-book, and individual flasks of hot chocolate.

And in the morning there was a complimentary newspaper hanging on the door handle.

The public areas are equally well appointed with the bar/restaurant being spacious and airy. Breakfast was a veritable feast with a continental buffet selection including juices, cereals, pastries, croissants, cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts, real honey, etc – which is then followed by a hot selection from an extensive menu, which included such favourites as “Full English” and "Eggs Benedict". The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

The hotel is perfectly situated in a quiet residential street yet it is only 2 minutes walk from Earls Court tube station.

Overall, we could not have asked for a better hotel experience and we have already booked to return to the Hotel Indigo later in the year.

Room Tip: 3rd or 4th floor - front facing.

We live in Surrey(not too far from London). Our work Christmas dinner was in central London and supposed to finish quite late, so I managed to convince my husband to stay a night in London instead. We were a bit worried about the quality of hotel in London, but this one is good - clean, stylish, luxurious. I checked Tripadvisor and the review of this hotel was very good. We had a very good experience when stayed in Hotel Indigo near Glasgow before. So, we decided to use this hotel chain again. I would think this may be a better hotel than some of the traditional 5 star hotels in Central London. We also had a very good quality breakfast there. We went to the Shard the day after. The whole weekend trip felt like a mini city break (even for locals). All wonderful!
