Myself and my partner had a deal for this hotel from Living Social, but would have been happy to pay the normal price for this hotel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, they had us booked in for another date but soon sorted it out and we were given a room even before the normal check in time. The room was nice, the bed was very comfortable. The room looked like it had recently been refurbished, everything in the room and bathroom was spotlessly clean, and I am a clean freak. In fact all of the hotel was spotless. Breakfast was good, a good selection of hot and cold food. The bar area was very cosy and comfortable.
Staff were very helpful if you needed to know how to get anywhere and bar and breakfast staff were lovely and friendly. We didnt have a meal apart from breakfast in the hotel, so cant comment on the food, but the menu looked good.
Location was great, a few minutes walk to Gloucester Road tube station and plenty of shops (waitrose, tesco, boots, sainsburys) and restaurants only a few minutes walk away. You could also walk to Earls Court tube in about 15 minutes and the high street there had plenty of places to eat.
We walked to kensington High St/Kensington Gardens which took about 15-20 minutes. So well located to get around London and the hotel was on a main road in a lovely area.
Would definitely stay here again. In fact will be looking out for any future good prices on this hotel.

I love this location, close to Gloucester Road tube station, because you can take the tube direct from Heathrow and walk to your hotel - quite a saving over a taxi right there. It is a lively area, close to museums, walking distance to the Albert Hall and to Hyde Park for down time, with good little restaurants and food shops. I have stayed in a number of the hotels in the area, and I think this one is one of the best values. The hotel itself is updated and feels clean and modern. Rooms and bathrooms are larger than usual in an old London hotel. Breakfast which was included had a really good selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. I did notice that room rates varied greatly so shop around.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a busy road, so ask for a quiet room - you won't have a great view out the windo...

Very good, great place to stay in London. Upscale without being pretentious, very attentive and helpful staff, new, very well appointed if somewhat small (by USA standards) rooms, great breakfast. Good location near tube stop, local shops, etc. I would definitely go back.

Friendly competent staff; the hotel is well decorated and laid out. I had a single room which was quite small - but absolutely fine for the purpose (business trip). It was very clean and well kept.

The bar and restaurant are good; a decent selection. A little expensive but that is just London prices.

It's well situated for the Museums and university - about 10 minutes walk from them. Lots of trendy bars and pubs in the area and it feels safe and pleasant.

Would stay there again.

If you are looking for a nice, clean London hotel, within walking distance to shopping, Starbucks and a tube station, look no further. We spent 4 nights here during the Olympics and were pleased.

Upon arrival, the front desk seemed under-staffed and quite busy. We arrived early and staff made accommodations to get us into a room early. We wanted to freshen up after our flight from the US and get set to go to our first event! We were grateful.

Staff was helpful, providing directions and information, and special assistance when our in-room telephone did not work.

The hotel breakfast buffet offers a nice selection of hot and cold foods. The public spaces and rooms are clean and beds comfortable.

It is a 5 minute walk (literally) to the Gloucester Road Tube station, on the Piccadilly line. Easy to get to and easy to use. At that same station, you can also pick up the Big Bus (hop on, hop off tour bus) which was very convenient! You can buy tickets there (from a Big Bus representative) for the bus, and for other attractions, like the Tower of London.

I would stay here again!

Room Tip: We had a room facing the street on ground floor. Traffic was not loud but the underground was!
